Great. More anti abortion, anti gay & pro gun campaign talk. I hope Jeb trounces Cruz, Christie, & the others. Jeb needs either Rubio, Rice, or Martinez on the ticket.

Hillary's gonna bail and throw her money/machine/support to Warren.

Republicans won't win another national Presidential race until 2028--at the earliest. They get their asses kicked on the IT/Data front.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/ ... story.html

Quote:
Message and media operated on one track. The other track focused on identifying, registering, mobilizing and ultimately turning out Obama voters. At the Chicago headquarters, these efforts were guided by Messina and Jen O’Malley Dillon, the deputy campaign manager, along with a sizable team of political organizers and tech-savvy newcomers.

“There’s always been two campaigns since the Internet was invented, the campaign online and the campaign on the doors. What I wanted was, I didn’t care where you organized, what time you organized, how you organized, as long as I could track it, I can measure it, and I can encourage you to do more of it.”

Jim Messina, President Obama’s 2012 campaign manager

The first steps toward building the reelection operation around a single target — maximizing turnout to reach 270 electoral votes — were taken in the months after Obama’s 2008 victory. Campaign staffers compiled a series of after-action reports. “We did a very detailed postmortem where we looked at all kinds of numbers, looking at the general stuff like the number of door knocks we made, phone calls we made, number of voters that we registered,” said Mitch Stewart, who would direct the campaign’s 2012 effort in battleground states. “But then we broke it down by field organizer, we broke it down then by volunteer. We looked at the best way or the best examples in states of what their volunteer organization looked like.”

The project produced a three-ring binder that contained nearly 500 pages and was filled with recommendations on how to strengthen what was already considered a state-of-the-art field operation. Another early step was the decision to massively expand the investment in technology, digital, cable, new media and particularly analytics.

Cruz is going to get the dollars for this, bring out the sound bites, throw out some one liners and cash in. Happens all the time.

Warren isn't going to do shit, she may not even run for President if Hillary bows out.

She has the shallow rhetoric down cold but she will most likely wilt under the spotlight. She isn't all the bright (neither is Hillary) of a bulb.

But, if the media rolls over and plays "Thrill Up My Leg" for her I guess anything is possible.

Yup, so tired of these talking points. The Republican mouth pieces harping on these topics is setting the party and country discussion back decades.

Exactly. Citizens want fiscal solutions before we go bankrupt.

Just caught a blip of him speaking at Liberty. He claimed that half the evangelicals stayed home in 2012. Problem Mormon hate but regardless that is a lot if true. I think Republicans have to play to that vote even if just with a wink and fingers crossed behind their backs. The problem how to lie to them and keep the more normal right?

I am not yet impressed or convinced with anyone. Pluses and minuses but too early. One thing I feel strongly is even if Jeb was George Washington the left/media will kill him connecting to W. Rand is interesting but weird. Walker makes noise but people here slam him on unions. I will take my time and learn more.

Also, I have not ruled out a late entry by Romney doing an I told you so thing.

Edit to add in almost every case I prefer a governor over a senator or rep.

Romneys biggest problem was not being true to himself and having the courage of his convictions. I dont think the republican party wants to see another epidode of Mitt for President. I know some people in the republican party and there is angst towards Mitt for blowing the last election, which many felt should have been a slam dunk.
I really wish that Jon Huntsman would mount a campaign and challenge. He could attract voters from all classes genders and partys. He's a good Man who is likeable, reasonable, smart and well versed in both domestic and international matters. Nevertheless, it's Jebs to lose.

I love politics and follow it like sports. I enjoy election night like I enjoy a Monday night Bears Packers game. I wish more people would take an interest in politics and take the time to research candidates and their platforms. Apathy is the devil.

I am the same brother but I am saddened by the lack of a break. No need to start the presidential race the minute the mid terms ended.

The case for Hillary not being some intellectual heavyweight has already been made.

By case for Warren being the same will be in public if she decides to run.

I do not see any scenario where a Republican candidate wins...not Jeb, not anyone. I don't think it matters who runs on the other side.

This isn't a slam dunk for Hils unless Bill is her running mate.

In the midterms, there is a low voter turnout. Seniors vote, which helps Republicans. There was 36.4% voter turnout in the 2014 midterms. There was 62.3% in 2012 elections, where the D's had a huge advantage in the popular vote. After the 2014 elections, Orrin Hatch said the people have spoken. He couldn't have been more full of shit, if he was a Porto-John after a three day music festival.

I suppose but the analysis has to be more complex than that. The senate was not overtaken because people did not vote. The ones that were motivated to take the senate did. The last two presidential elections had record black turn out. When you are motivated you vote.

Ah, very nice analysis, pittmike. Now you're seeing the issue in other colors rather than just black and white.

Mid-terms are largely meaningless. Nobody will beat Walker in 2016. And in 2018 the GOP will lose seats in the mid-terms. Just the way it is.

The ebbs and flows of Congressional elections is somewhat predictable. But it looks like it's you vs Hussra with your presidential predictions.

I wouldn't be totally shocked if Romney threw his hat back into the ring even after he said he wasnt going to.

After the lights shine on the GOP clown car long enough, the powers that be will realize that Jeb is probably the only one with a chance in 2016. They will reluctantly back him, as they did Romney in 2012.

Maybe I'm wrong but I just can't see the Jebster winning anything. The W baggage is just overwhelming and he's brought the whole sorry team into his fold. Plus he is sub-Romney on the charisma scale. Walker has actually accomplished what the rest of these GOP posers can only dream about. The fact that it has actually hurt the WI economy is beside the point.

Saying that he switched musical tastes because of country music's response to 9/11 takes the cake. That's an all-timer, right there.
