Now that I read this again - what was he talking about exactly?

This could be horrible.

Spiegel: “Aiyana Cristal makes me uncomfortable. I feel how hard she’s trying & end up awkwardly rooting for her to finish cleanly.”

Compared to the usual "Sorry if YOU were offended" I think it is.

Oh well, whatever.

This was a fun day on the board!

Please read in a......LOUD Talking / Yelling voice of Dan Bernstein liberal watchdog and Score King.

He's apologizing because he got caught and humiliated in front of....THE WORLD.
He had no option but to apologize. I don't buy it for a second.

I don't buy it. And I don't think he should've had to apologize in the first place. he has said things infinitly worse.

It's awesome that the New York Post called him A creepy sports host.

I wouldn't think Bernstein would be a boob guy. He likes thin or so he says.

Levi Pettit, who was expelled from the University of Oklahoma for spouting a racist chant at a fraternity activity, says he's "deeply sorry."

"Although I don't deserve it, I want to ask for your forgiveness," Pettit said as he read from a prepared statement at a news conference on Wednesday. "There are no excuses for my behavior. I never thought of myself as a racist. I never considered it a possibility. But the bottom line is that the words that were said in that chant were mean, hateful and racist."

Flanked at the podium by African American leaders who he'd been meeting with at the Fairview Baptist Church in Oklahoma City, Pettit, who is white, said he planned to spend the rest of his life trying to undo the damage he'd done.

There is one guy I know who goes over the top with BOOBS comments as much as Bernstein and eveyrone who knows him thinks he's in the closet and compensating.

Not saying that's true of Bernstein, but it comes off as affected and wanting to be known as a Guy's Guy when he says that stuff.

So knowing that, I understand but can't empathize with how tough it must be to be a woman in our industry. I hope this didn't come across as rambling. Lots of thoughts right now. So, we all know that Dan reads directly from Deadspin on the show a few times per month...I don't think he'll be reading any today.

Absolutely not true, Mike.

Many times media types are allowed to go on for the offiicial apology and suspended later. Brian Williams comes to mind.

I think if the topic is not even sniffed the rest of the show, then he probably got suspended. Spiegel cut transition very short.

Not even a slight jokey reference to it in 2-1/2 hours.

Word has come from above....tread lightly.

Working nights has never been more advantageous than the day I woke up and heard Bernstein acting like a human being, before knowing why. It was totally surreal and a little disappointing to ultimately learn the reason.

I have cringed far harder over his comments about how people such 'n such person should die horribly or, if they already are, that it's a good thing. To be honest, this kind social media policing over trivial things is exactly what I hate. But of course the fact it happened to this guy, after all the actual garbage he has spewed over the years, is perfect.
