We all know who else would do it, so here we go....

There are certain times when you can be childish and crass - Just a weak attempt to tell everyone that in some scenarios this would be OK? Like when you are drinking with your buddies at bar? So, the thought process is still flawed? Its exactly how someone would analyze it.

and there are other times when it's just really stupid to be a child. - you mean when you get caught by your employer? or wife?

My tweet was childish, my tweet was crass and unnecessary and I'm sorry I dragged an innocent person into it who's doing a job and I made an observation I shouldn't have made, and it was childish and silly and stupid." - Yeah, we know you owned it. do you want credit for owning it because you didnt say 'Someone hacked my account" . Guess what Danny Boy, you couldnt say someone hacked your account because of the direct conversation you had with Spiegel. There was an "I'M SORRY", so there is the apology in a sea of egocentric comments.

Later, he added: "My words are my responsibility and my words were stupid. Lotsa words so far, has an APOLOGY really been issued?

And there's nobody else to blame for any difficulties that I might be going through because of my stupidity. It's entirely on me. And I own it. More about Danny and OWNING IT, "LOOK AT ME I OWNED IT" Still waiting for the apology in the apology?

And I wish I would've had a second thought about sending it, Yeah, well you didnt. You are now equal to the morons you ridicule daily MORON!

and I'm learning my lesson about what is appropriate, what is inappropriate to say, but all you do is tell others what is right and wrong. All that time, all that preaching, all that was Bullshit and NOW you are 'Learning'. check with your sources on this one.

and I feel bad about it." Is this the big apology?????? he feels bad about it, or does he feel bad about how it makes him look, how it might have cost him his job and his income?

I guess they don't teach APOLOGY 101 at Duke. What a sanctimonious little prick! Heart felt MY ASS!

This was stated in the original thread...

He is not sorry for what he said, he is sorry about the reaction.

You are right in the sense he never said he should not have thought it. Only that he should not have sent it.

The main point is Dan has commented on female sports reporters boobs countless times. He's now sorry cuz the internet blew up. People at the Score are offended and apologetic because the internet blew up.

HE HAS SAID THIS ABOUT MEGAN GLAROS. LARRY WAS THERE WHEN HE SAID IT. THINGS STICK ON THE INTERNET. THEY DON"T ON THE AIR FOR SOME REASON. HE"S SAID OTHER STUFF THAT IS MUCH WORSE.

They've all heard him say this stuff before. Now they take offense?

They're all ass holes. They're all weasels. Now they're gonna take this moment to care? When they didn't before cuz it didn't blow up.

Watching this blow up the last 24 hours, I've found myself thinking two things: 1) he should absolutely be suspended and 2) that this is Berns' Brian Williams/Bill O'Reilly moment. As a longtime guy listening to B & B, I've often wondered just how much of his contemptuous asshole persona is real and how much is manufactured for our radio pleasure. I've also been horrified by how uncritically he has become a toady for the 1% however they show up (whether they own a sports team or not) and how he has somehow tried to justify this by focusing on child rape and low-hanging fruit on the social justice tree.

But what has always irked me about Berns is how little he seemingly owns his elitism--maybe he's a good guy to people who love him, but he has always struck me as a guy who grew up sheltered in a very homogeneous world, got some flavor to his elitism by his CBA and minor league baseball travels, but who has basically been able to stay an elitist through and through.

And this is where the Williams/O'Reilly comparison happens for me. Just like they both had to trump up some very tenuous links to a stereotypical macho behavior like fighting in a war and being in a war zone, so Berns has to grasp for whatever macho bullshit he has that makes him connect with regular guys. So like most of us (who are straight at least) Berns likes tits, seemingly big ones on blondes from what I've heard over the years. But unlike most of the regular guys who have lots of sexy ladies in their spank bank and just go about their business, he needs to regularly tell us about his hots for them, in the creepy condescending way he does lots of things, only this time it's tits, so see he's just a guy too. Except he's really not ever been "just a guy," and wouldn't really be caught dead with one (unless he was some crazed old black guy calling in, he likes those guys). So where does this take you, if you're Berns? Drunk tweeting and tripling-down on a comment that no responsible guy in the public square should be saying, particularly one who has a stable full of high horses.

In a sane, rational world the thoughts Bernstein expressed last night aren't worth paying attention to. There's nothing wrong with what he said, we just like to see him get shit on and dont care where its coming from.

That's a lot of words to convey that you are bad at thinking and that you probably need a fulfilling hobby.

Jesus Christ TLDR guys. I ain't reading all of that!

...joking aside, the ironic thing here is that ppl ostensibly want media figures on twitter to be "real" ppl yet when we get some genuine banter we as a society are sooooooo quick to crucify them out of some twisted sense of haterade.

I said it b4 and i'll say it again: twitter is a scary place now. Ask around, you might end up with a fate worse than death... A TWEET FROM ME!

Yes because now it affects their pocketbooks. Guys on The Score who could get a little face time on the panel shows on Comcast have lost those gigs. Comcast will no longer let The Score carry press conferences. Do I think things like the Sharp innuendo or talking over said press conferences played a part to and this was just the straw that broke the camels back? Dan was playing his radio persona on twitter...not everyone listens to the radio or will go back for a podcast but Tweets are out there. Yes the other guys at The Score care because FOTS screwed them in the near term...

Did Comcast come out and say they won't let Score people on panel anymore?

Good point, I extrapolated that from Lawrence's tirade last night...just listened to his podcast this morning...he stated that Shuester was supposed to be on but was cancelled and was pretty clear in saying that other's will be excluded as well...

The list of Danny female comments and Leary "Guests" on the show should be included on a WSCR restraining order.
