How will you recover from that, Zippy?

I know, as you have proven before, that you aren't too bright, but I think you meant to use the word "insight".

But maybe I'm wrong.

Not quite as "special" as you :D

And you think I give one fuck about Bernstein's wife and kids feelings. LOL FUCK THEM and you

Dont you see that you are doing the exact same thing that Berns does? You better hope that what goes around doesnt come around. Karma is a son of a bitch.

Are you saying you really care about his kids?

I know I have not attacked them, nor do I have reason to. But why would I care about their success because of their father, when that POS has no feelings for the families of those he ridicules, attacks and demeans on a regular basis?
Hoping for him to suffer the same fate he wishes on others is not a problem to me.

SID, you wished for some terrible things to happen to his kids. His kids haven't done anything wrong. Yea...I guess I care. You're an angry grown ass Man.

Apples and chainsaws.

How so? SID hopes Dan's kids end up homeless, Dan hopes other's kids end up brain damaged. Maybe your right, Dan is much worse.

He is talking about kids who choose to play football. Bernstein's kids didn't choose any of this.

So, the only difference is he has an audience? Bernstein wins again.

Wrong. He is talking about parents who allow their kids to play football and get brain damage for his entertainment.

No, but the fact that he hopes kids get brain damage AND uses his platform to do so makes him much worse than I am.

It's a bit disturbing the level of hate that is being laid out here. I don't care for Dan Bernstein as a host any more...haven't for quite some time. My dislike is partly his views and partly how he comes across...he doesn't leave much room for debate if you don't agree. He is hyperbolic to the nth degree in many situations. When that's the case I punch the button or don't even turn on. I really don't know how much the lives of those he attacked have been harmed...none of us do. But the concerted effort by a few here is a bit too lynch mobby in my opinion. Kids don't choose their parent's and to extrapolate the idea that Dan's words have hurt other's kids so who cares what happens to his is sketchy at the least, and scary at full value. Emails with links to his transgressions have been sent...what more do some of you want? If he loses his job are you going to come here and gloat? Man...some of us here really need to rethink our priorities in life if we are letting Dan Bernstein have this much effect on our anger and joy...

The choice was made to play football. Bernstein's kids didn't choose any of this. You can keep trying, but you will never connect these two situations.

He doesn't root for brain damage, he just understands the dangers of playing football, as everybody should at this point. He has gone very hard at those who try to deny the long term effects of head trauma/concussions.

Bernstein has often been the "One man mob" on people who haven't really done much wrong. He's embarrased a lot of people in this city and nationally for less than a sexist comment.

No. Dan didn't do anything that bad. But if it weren't him that did this, he'd make and entire show ridiculing the person that did. Making that guys life a living hell for the sport of it.

And since he's put him self out there as holier than though guy, what he did was worse than others. It wasn't a meatball that said a girl has nice boobs, it was Dan Bernstein. The privileged kid from Deerfield with the Duke education. And he's proud to tell you he's above the construction worker whistling at the girl. But there he was, Dan Bernstein, whistling at the big breasted girl.

Makes it worse. He deserves all that he gets.

No, he wants the game to be as brutal as it's ever been, which means he's rooting for brain damage for his entertainment, but let's not get lost in semantics here: anyone wishing for Dan's career to be derailed by this isn't actually offended by it and just wishes him an inordinate amount of ill.

He wants the NFL to be honest, and parents/kids to understand the dangers, and if they decide it's worth it, so be it.

For example: If dumb ass drinky did what Bernstein did, no national story. And the locals in this city would just say "It's just dumb ass drinky".

Bernstein doesn't get that pass.

SID is not a mult. He has been his own entity for years, dating back way before my 8 years logging in. his obsessions on anything score-related have been well documented. he was trolling before trolling became a sensation. the guy is nuts. but he is not someone's mult.

So whats the story about SID and his hatred of Mac? Is he an ex Score employee. ..or perhaps a Chet mult?

There's nothing inordinate about it. Dan is a bad person who publicly espouses socially toxic views.

He does publicly espouse socially toxic views, but -- and this is ironic given, as Telander pointed out, the moral arbitration the show doles out on a regular basis -- I'm not ready to declare him a Bad Person for this. I think he's fundamentally a decent person who wants the best for his loved ones and to leave the world in a better place than he found it, as most people do, but he kinda gets tripped up on the second part and does a really shitty job of it because being a middle-class white guy with college funds and a mortgage to worry about overshadows whatever good intentions he may have lying around. He basically bit off more than he could chew the second he uttered the words "rape culture."

He has said a lot of stuff that really pissed me off on what I'd like to think are higher levels than your average "I hate dat Bernstine guy" schmo can muster, things where I have felt like this guy is a pretty shitty human. Allow me to list!

1) Congratulating his boss on the air for not renewing the contract of a co-worker with mental health and family issues
2) Wanting to breed a black athlete with his child
3) Recalling antisemitic stereotypes by postulating that Jewish businessmen and politicians will make clandestine deals in their synagogue
4) Fetishizing black athletes' bodies
5) Assorted instances of neoliberal shittiness

But now that people from well outside the Chicago Sports Fan Message Board are calling him out and shit is getting real, I don't want to see the guy ruined forever. I just want him to go back to not being so shitty all the time! So I do think that whatever your feelings are on Dan, "I hope he loses his job and his home and has to live under a bridge" is wildly disproportionate to his transgressions and his full body of work as an entertainer. I guess I never really resigned from the ALS, huh.

It's probably already been posted in one of the other threads but here is Aiyana Cristal's response via her Twitter. Apologies if I'm late to the dance. I just saw this now...

"Thank you to everyone for the kind words and supporting me in regards to the recent cyberbullying attack.

This incident serves as a gross reminder that women continue to fight everyday to be treated equally. My female colleagues share my frustration in knowing the sports industry presents us with challenges of equality in an arena that is often filled with misogyny.

We seek the same footing, but when ignorant comments are shared it shifts the business in the wrong direction.

Sexual harassment is never acceptable and as journalists we are all responsible for setting a better example when utilizing a platform that reaches the masses. We should all be held accountable for our actions.

In the immortal words of Maya Angelou, 'You may not control all the events that happen to you, but you can decide not to be reduced by them.'"

Bad mult. Never, ever contributes something constructive to the site. Non-entity.

Maybe he's just doing a bit. Im sure off the board he's salt of the earth, contributor to kids charities, volunteer at the local shelter. He may have even been cordial to CoF the couple times he met him. Has to make him a decent dude.

Yup. He's a sterling member of society, trust me. He was loved by all on the board, it was just before you registered and started posting. All the SiD hate is a very recent development.

Nothing is his fault. It's on you.

1) I'm not actively rooting for him to lose his job over this. But if he does, so be it.

2) I never called for anything bad to happen to his kids. I just don't understand people running to his defense on this point as he actively hopes for bad things to happen to other people's kids.

Chus this is 100% true. He does however add in the snarky little comments that if you choose to you are dumb or poor.
