Crawford's $6 million cap hit is too damn high. Blackhawks have shown a penchant for identifying/develping adequate goaltending.

Blame Toews and Kane for consuming a combined 29% of the cap next year.

Darling is our nominee for the Masterton Trophy, presumably for overcoming alcoholism and bus leagues no one's ever heard of. Every team nominates a player, though. The Coyotes once nominated Shane Doan because a dog bit his daughter.

Is it common knowledge Darling is an alkie?

It will be once Bernstein makes it up.

Yes. He drank himself out of school, got cut by the Coyotes (they held his draft rights), and had to start all the way at the bottom (Southern Pro Hockey League) and climb all the way back up to the NHL. It really is quite remarkable.

Good for him. Makes me feel better about him as a goalie going forward (provided he stays sober). I thought he just sucked and got better. Not that he had this issue.

At some point, somebody, somewhere, is gonna realize the direction of the bad choices in the tragic circumstances of the equipment guy. He killed himself. Connect the dots, seriously. My God, stop believing the blowhard on the score.

While this is true, in terms of building and maintaining a team, this simply cannot stand. If one of these 2 did it, they have to be shown the door. Line crossed. More than being a whore....this makes you an awful teammate.

Makes me feel better about myself as a drinker going forward.
