Whatever, though, harsh words from one this boards biggest and most established frauds isn't all that big a deal.

That is my favorite part of this. It will end up giving gay people MORE protections.

That was the whole point all along.

Yes, that's the ticket.

For the love of God, the republican party doesn't need this and they must stop the anti gay crusade. Who in their right mind actually thought that this bill was a good idea & that it wouldn't cause a controversy? Move on & work on things that matter.
We need another Goldwater in this party.

You're God damn right we do. I'm sick & tired of the same old crap with many of these guys. My dream of Jon Huntsman getting in the race is over as his campaigning days are over. Its too bad because he's smarter than the rest of these guys put together.

If Republicans truly support this kind of thing then I can no longer support them.
This is a deal breaker.

I'm serious. I don't want to be a part of this kind of shit.
I have a close family member who is gay. Didn't choose to be. Struggled with it for years, close to 40 years. The parent was a very religious type, made her feel like shit talking about gay people the way he did... never knowing what he was doing to her. It ruined her life. She's finally admitted to herself and her family who she is. She's as happy as I've ever seen her in my life.

I think about the comments above about how Jesus would try to talk her into giving up her sins. In my view, she's giving up what God made her to be. She's been like this since she was a child. There's no doubt in my mind, no anyones who knows her. Would Jesus want her to live a life unhappy? Would he want her to be miserable and deny who she really was inside? Did not God make her what she is?

I hear you, this is no Gouda, and seems to be contradictory to the teachings of Jesus and Company. But I'm hoping that this is a crucible of sorts. A 'put your money where your mouth is" moment.

That's my hope.

Exactly, when even bother with this law? Who said "hey, things are pretty good in Indiana so let's pass this law!"

SomeGuy does definitely stand behind Native Americans (Redskins) and their wanting to us peyote to embark on glorious, time honored vision quests.

Not good, Hawg.

It's like a contest on the right to see who can hate gay people the most.

I don't know. Jesus lived a pretty shitty life by most standards. putting others above him. I'm not sure he'd say the endgame was happiness. In my mind he certainly would of made gays a cake though.

This is starting to get ridiculous -- people not patronizing stores that don't have a "We Serve Everyone" sign? FUCK YOU!!!

Good for them. This will get the law changed quickly.

Could have been more effective in a Darwin sense if the law made people put a sign no gays allowed if that is what they felt. Then it would be clear and they could be protested and put out of business.

They should just put those on the "Welcome To Indiana" signs.

What is the problem there?

I could be wrong but I had you for a guy that believes in "the free market", right?

This is an odd take coming from you, to be honest. You're usually pretty measured and this seems emotional.

if we've learned anything is that the social justice warriors will move along to the next great upsetting thing. businesses making "statements" today will soon venture their way back in to indiana as there are still hundreds of thousands of potential customers with cash as good as anyone elses, waiting to spend it. people won't be driving around the state. gays and lesbians will not massively flee the state. trevor noah pulled them off a little bit, but the final four in Indianapolis keeps the discussion at the forefront. once thats over? obscurity.

I don't know about that one. Public outrage got Jan Brewer to veto the Arizona bill. I don't think people are going to move on so quickly from this, and they shouldn't.
