Prediction Machine giving the Bryant absentee factor as 1 W....thus 85 wins with him...

I would actually wager under 85...if I did. Lotsa of things need to gel early for this team.

-Madden, happy with him, but he never managed early April in Wrigley. Sucks , Cold, Windy, Snow...gotta go small ball. Every run more valuable.
-3 catchers...limits other moves.
-New #1 pitcher
-Rookie mistakes,
-Olt still Olt

I know every team says 'they need to get out of the gate well" and I want to see that, but I dont expect it. If it does happen, that makes things REAL interesting,.

81. Too many rookies (soler, bryant, baez, alcantara) or guys with only 1 year of success (hendricks, ramirez).

Team defense worries me. We might lose a lot of close games because of it.

Who is valuing Bryant at 1 win for missing 11 games?

Good Dolphin's first thread on Bryant being a bust this season will be up before memorial day.

The difference between Babe Ruth and his replacement might be 1 game

He's going to miss more than 11 games.

I just dont like all the newness into COLD wrigley and think it starts off well. Almost never does. One would think knowing this should help you when visitors come in, but it hasnt to date.

Maddon, due some stuff.

Who's your breakout Cub this year Jimmy? I'm thinking Fowler is going to have a pretty good year.

They will be 65-65 or maybe 66-64 after play on August 31. I think they'll slip a bit at the end once they've been eliminated from the 2nd wild card and they start resting some of their younger pitchers.

So 79-83.

Fowler is kind of a known commodity that has been on some bad teams.

I'm going to suggest that Addison Russell comes up at some point and dazzles... this would presumedly be after Castro is traded to the Mets, or suspended for something.

Matches,
I really like Soler. I predicted on here somewhere that by the All-Star Break ,he will be the Cub MVP.
I think another Cub who might improve from last year is the overlooked Chris Coghlin. He had a good comeback season last year and I think he will improve on that.

i know. he's a 16 WSAR player, in that he'll give you 16 more world series than a replacement player.

I hate to say it, but Joey Maddon looked like he just got Cubbed. Lotsa time to fix it and Wainwright was very good, but still looked AAA'ish

If Waino was AAA (he's also pitching hurt, BTW then the Cubs lineup is AAAA

I think he meant the Cubs looked AAAish. The hard truth is Maddon can't do shit.
