Correct. Once again, he did not get "run support".

Cubs fans will console Sox fans on this one. Cubs fans did not want to resign him. I'm no fan of W-L for pitchers, but the eye test was enough to judge Samardzija.

In the AL Central...half the games in US Cellular...his ERA will not look attractive.

This isn't a smart thought. (Surprise!)

Last season, through 11 starts, he was 1-4. With a 1.68 ERA.

It takes some set of balls to turn down 90M guaranteed.

Didn't see today's game. Was it a continuation of spring training?

He's going to have to get that HR/FB thing figured out in a hurry in the Cell.

He's really the #3 who is the #2 because Quintana and Sale are lefties. He will be fine. Wait until you see Danks.

Heard an interesting thing today about Danks. They said 2/3 of his starts were quality starts. Theory is that as a number 4 regardless of salary with that stat and a little defense and more runs that can work out to be passable.

Samardzija gets the ball up, not really sure why thats such a shocker, its always been his issue. Maybe Bosio is just a better coach than the legend of Don Cooper? Cubs pen looked real good as well.

I wonder what you would say if a Cub fan posted something like this?

Probably something about Cub fans thinking everyone is great, etc

Kenny Williams is not the Sox GM, and he never signed Edwin Jackson. You are 0-3 in this thread. Would you like to try for the golden sombrero?

His max sinker was faster than his max fastball and there was less than 2 mph difference between is fastball, sinker and cutter? That seems a little fishy to me.

Actually, Kenny Williams traded for Edwin Jackson with the intention of flipping him to the Nationals for Adam Dunn. It fell through.

Well, I think we can officially get rid of the idea that Sox fans are any different than Cubs fans.

Numbers seem to be giving you a hard time.

Also, these pitch trackings aren't an exact science. Besides, fastballs, sinkers, and cutters are all considered 'types of fastballs.'
