Would like to see some bunting if the weather is shitty, move guys along. Small ball in April. Use E Jax to run.

Use E Jax to help install the new toilets in Wrigley.

the cubs could do a promotion where if you commit to coming to wrigley 9+ times in april/may for weekday games you get VIP bathroom passes and a bunch of beer/food coupons for the low low price of $49 or something, just make sure you give them an exclusive hat/shirt or some other swag to go along with it. i bet people would literally eat it up and piss it out and go spread the word on twitter/facebook.

Actually surprised they used a NIGHT game in April, no real reason to, at least its a little warmer during the day.

Gotta keep the warm nights open for the outdoor debut of Jersey Boys. Revenue streams!

After opening night, I don't think the word "stream" should be used in any context other than that of urination.

Nothing amazing? Have you not seen Arrieta's stuff?

Another Cutter (looks like a tweener. Hard to say what it was meant to be):
Image

He throws the Cutter at around 92 MPH, and the slider around 87-90 MPH. The Cutter has excellent lateral break, and the slider just dives down. He rarely puts any up in the zone, and he locates his fastball and change. And sometimes he throws a random 1-7 curveball to keep hitters on their toes.

His Cutter, Slider, and Fastball are so good that no one even knows what to call them. Depending on which website you go to, some of his pitches are called splits or sinkers. So much movement on his fastball, cutter, and slider...you could call them anything you want.

I'll predict that Arrieta will toss a no-hitter this year.
He took no hitters late into games a number of times last year.
You can tell from the first inning when he has unhittable stuff.
I'll also say that Sale will toss one this year, also.

Anybody in the baseball media who doesn't know the difference between a postponement and a cancellation is an idiot.

Postponed--game will be made up

Cancelled--game will not be made up

Huge difference. It amazes me how many media people get this wrong.

Did the Cubs really just Reinsdorf this game 6 hours before the first pitch is scheduled to be thrown?

There is no way this game would have had decent conditions. It is going to rain and have a wind chill in the teens.

Go outside. Not baseball weather.

You are right. I heard it's an actual 12 days,not 12 games.

It has always been 12 days. That being said, it won't be exactly 12 days. That is how you screw yourself if there is a grievance.

Douchebag stealing my term of Jerrying a game.

However, they are throwing the 90% chance of rain, it is cold right now and 20 MPH winds.

So a realstic chance of it being really shitty....and speaking of SHITTY, gotta work on the Porta Potty thing still.

Postponed. Nothing rescheduled yet.

Shocking April night games in Chicago are a bad idea

On the bright side, Bryant misses only 8 games now

Yeah, there probaly is a good chance the game would be rained out, but wouldn't you want a few thousand people showing up and at least buying food/drinks/souveneirs? Seems like a no-brainer to me.

When did this cancelling games hours many hours before start time begin? It seems like this only started happening in the last few years. I can understand if some severe weather system was incoming (tornado/hurricane warnings), but a cold drizzle? C'mon now...

They'll do a double header with them in the Summer and get 40k for the make up instead of the 15k they were gonna get tonight. More Revenue. REALLY SMART PEOPLE MADE A REALLY SMART DECISION.

Conspiracy theory time: Perhaps the city said they were gonna shut Wrigley down. So the Cubs did it themselves to save face and try to fix the pissing problem by tomorrow? Maybe they won't fix it and they shut them down tomorrow. Then it's panic time for Tommy boy.

I just don't know how they can accommodate the new line flow for the porta poties. These new lines, the regular bathroom lines, the concession lines, that's gotta be too many people in such a small area. Has to be a fire code violation.

It probably started because teams dont want to piss off fans. Families going to the game appreciate the early heads up. Im sure most fans appreciate the early heads up.

I cant imagine why anyone would be against this

You get people down there, and about 3 beers deep, and then you call the game at 6:45. The local businesses would probably appreciate the extra business too.
