If I'm super biased, then Cubs fans are relatively an extremely objective group.

What I don't understand is why, if this is a perfectly legal move that is permitted by the CBA, the Cubs would have to dance around it.

Nah, you're nowhere near as prick-ish as that little Caller Bob.

I'm just joshing around. Or joseing around, as the case may be.

I don't think Jose Abreu will hit 40 home runs. I said that last April, I said that last July, I pointed it out in September, and I've said it all offseason.

But he is a GREAT hitter. If you have an OPS above .900, the details are unimportant. It could be all singles. You're still a great hitter.

You sound like me. When I started cussing in fourth grade.

It seemed to be the mature thing to do at the time.

This cancellation has nothing to do with Bryant or weather. This has to do with money. It will be rescheduled on day when there are an extra 5000-10000 tickets to sell. They cant sell those bleacher tickets now, but they can later in the year.

As I said, best business ops exec in sports!

That sweet, sweet extra revenue goes in the Price / Zimmermann / Cueto fund.

Pending the results of this latest argument, leash will either be a bad Sox fan or a bad Cubs fan.

Most of Jimmy's ire is directed at Mgmt.

But I've ripped Ricketts harder than most either way.

Nah they were still work shopping anti Mark Cuban statements when I started ripping Ricketts. (Before he even won the bidding)

In 5 years ... Ricketts will be Rocky Wirtz, and Tribune/Zell will be seen as Bill Wirtz.

Probably because neither term has anything to do with genitalia, but more of condescension and posting style. But, I'm not going to waste any more digital ink explaining anything to you.

the Cub were just a pain in the ass to Zell, he didnt give a shit about making operating money or not. The Cubs were less than 10% of what he bought and just wanted the cash.

No one disagrees. But he was still an owner. An owner that was, and deserved to be, disliked.

Agree about Bryant, but you have to admit it is weather-related...the Cubs would have loved to reschedule the game even if it were 70 and sunny today (especially considering Pissgate), but I don't think MLB would let them.

Yeah. But he should have cared about money. Zell should have held it, done what Ricketts is doing and then sold it for 3 billion. Instead of the 900 million that he got. Because I think the Cubs will be worth 3 billion in 6 or 7 years. Right now they're worth at least 2 billion.

There would be at least three threads if this was Jerry cancelling the game at 3:00.

But the plan was to sell that part ASAP in a quick sale.

I agree that Zell would have been despised beyond even his imagination.

The guys nickname is 'the Grave Dancer"

He had a movie studio under contract in the mid 2000's and was ready to cut back the catering budget, the RV's etc, all the bullshit that makes filming more expensive and his people talked him out of the deal hearing that essentially he would have been boycotted in Hollywood and all productions would have been shut down. In that case he met his match and was smart enough to not go through with the deal.

 Absolutely not. There are maybe, maybe five regular posters here who are objectionable and un-biased most of the time. That short list does not include you (or me). The vast majority of Cubs fans and Sox fans that post here are incredibly biased. That is not necessarily a good thing or a bad thing. Its just a plain and simple fact.

I'm obviously biased as well, that being said my Cub and Sox thoughts are general fairly neutral. And the Cardinal forums are relatively quiet here, and i don't recall a squabbling of any sort with any fans of a particular franchise.

But I'm sure Brick has his own criteria for obnoxiousness.

That occured after you made the topic. Really had nothing to do with allegiances either.

In other news, I now have a 3 hour block of time i have no idea what to do with this evening...
