I think this is 'his stride" and its average at best. If he thinks he is getting $400K a year again, they might as well start looking for a new guy again.

While I dont think there is a dislike between Len and James, they dont click well.

Len Kasper should be able to hand select whomever he'd like to work with. He is that good, and they can afford to pay him and his chosen color analyst.

There was actually a bidding war on him between the Astro and Cubs!

Len was also part of the search and put the seal of approval on him.

I dont even doubt Deshais knows his baseball, but it seems tough to get information and even commentary from him, making the $400K even harder to believe as some simple audition tapes had to be available from him doing Astros games?

Lets be clear, I dont despise the guy, he does just a plain, boring job and I think the color guy needs to bring more to the table....I mean if he is allowed to.

Yes, Stones deal is up and I am 100% sure he would love to return to the Cub, but maybe all those little shots might have cost him....

I never said anything about Hawk, and you are way off (as usual) with this baseball discussion. Len started out good, but over the last few years has turned into a hipster, and a whiny Cubs apologist.

Turned into a hipster? What does that even mean?

How can a Sox fan ever call another team's broadcaster a whiny team apologist? Watching MLB Network constantly, I feel I have a good sense of play-by-play men from a ton of teams. Len Kasper is on the objective side. Maybe not as much as he was when Bob Brenly was with him, but he still calls the game correctly. If a pitch is a good pitch, it is a good pitch. If it is a bad pitch, it is a bad pitch. If a player makes a baserunning or fielding mistake, it is commented on.

And the team the player is on is never factored into it with Len.

We have Stacey King and Ken Harrelson in this town. We should know what terrible homer broadcasters sound like.

Hawk might be better on some sort of talk show, inside the Sox or something like that, but as a guy doing the games he is terrible. His information is wrong, terrible, old and he cant see.

Now, Stone sat next to a guy who did the same thing, but Stone could correct him, then he and Harry would laugh about it. It made for a good broadcast...Stone cant correct "The Great Hawk" so you get silence and a bad broadcast with poor information at best.

I can't really speak to his actual broadcasts but he does not come off as anything close to that on the radio with B&B.

It feels like I can write his answers to every question. Spoiler Alert: Everything is great about everything.

He is as objective as IMU is about the White Sox.

When you are trying to sell something, which is what the media people do for a team....Always painting a great picture and smiling is exactly what you want.

I assum you have some type of marketing or salespeople, or do some sales calls? Do you or they walk in and start talking crap about your company or the others?

So then he isn't objective.

There is nothing wrong if that is what his role is but IMU can't then call him on the objective side.

Len Kasper is as objective as you can be as a team play-by-play man can be during his broadcasts. Period.

If you disagree, give me an alternative.
