One run on a sac fly and then a double play.

It wouldn't be a Sox game if they didn't make an out on the bases.

They just didn't want to score more runs than were needed.

They were boo'd off the field in the top of the 2nd and came back a completely different ball club. Sale brings us to 2-4 tomorrow and and we can all calm down a little bit.

did the white sox even have a lead b4 today's game? maybe that one up-n-back slopfest with the royals (the danny duffy start methinks) but it sure felt like today was the first day they had a lead.

first game I've seen all year. my takeaway is that there are a lot of legit MLB'ers on the roster, which I haven't been able to say for a few years. no more DeAza types. they should be .500 unless serious injuries hit. not a lot of depth behind the starters.

The bullpen is going to be so much better this year once Guerra and Putnam are sent away to die. Robertson is what a real closer looks like, just comes in throws strikes, gets K's and limits baserunners. Duke had to battle to get 5 outs today in the 8th and kept the Sox ahead through that. Jennings can ball, too. Great pitch to get that double play.

They do need another RH though, Petricka comes back in a week which is nice but they should still start looking through the org for guys who can throw strikes. I have zero faith in Albers and Drabek.

Eaton is going to be fine. He's staring down 1st pitch strike, then fouling off the second pitch and battling from an 0-2 count from which he still is making contact. He's gonna need to go against the SABR-bible and swing at some first pitches here to break this slump, because right now pitchers are just underhanding it in there because they know he wont swing.

Carrasco/Bauer in Cleveland. Carrasco is a problem (he's the 3rd or 4th best pitcher in the AL Central) but Bauer should be winnable. Quintana gets back to form on Tuesday and the Sox have a fighting chance for the 2 game sweep and .500.

Guerra and Putnam will join John Adkins and The Ghost of Cliff Politte in Hell or a truck stop bathroom with Scott Ruffcorn.

Good weekend for the Sock. I hope for a meaniful summer of baseball from both sides of town.

As far as I know his ETA is still sometime in June. That'd be nice.

I think there's a chance they move Nolan Sanburn up and in before long. Very good start at Birmingham in a relief role and he has command. We got him for Dunn.
