We're trying to figure out how to get Lemahieu out. Then we'll work on Dickerson.

Throw at his head and take him out

That Akin Law Office guy needs a quick refresher on how to hold a baseball bat. He's really choking up on that thing.

I see you subscribe to the Patty Roy way of coaching.

The hitting with men on base has to get better. I think they have had the leadoff man on 3 straight innings today, and haven't done shit. I've lost track of how many times a man was on 3rd with 1 out or fewer, and they couldn't get them in. That is the easiest thing to do in baseball. Just get the damn ball in play.

Pretty anemic attack today against this Lyles guy.

Can't wait until Bryant and Russell get up here.

Bryant hit his second homer today after getting his first last night.

Lead-off man on again. Fourth time in five innings I believe. And bam, stolen base and then base hit up the middle.

Glad we got the sac fly there, but man, Rizzo has not looked comfortable at the plate so far this year.

7th inning and we decide to pinch hit the pitcher, with a pitcher, wtf. I know they love Wood, but he really isn't that much of a hitter. I know the bench is pretty shitty, one reason being 3 fucking catchers, but let a position guy hit, please.

I saw an interesting stat about Jason Marquis the other day. He has 5.5 career rWAR as a pitcher, 3.9 rWAR as a hitter. :bom:

I cannot believe the Rockies decided that it was OK to use LaTroy Hawkins as a closer.

Props to Castello for not trying to hit a HR with two strikes. Fowler was the hero but Castello did a good job keeping the inning alive.

Castro needs to go ASAP. He thinks he is fucking B.Bonds. I blame the sunflower seeds. He was much better when he would hit for average, but Theo and Co. tried to turn him into a power hitter.

it's pretty amazing considering that this spring training he was equal parts lights out and equal parts shelled for like 4-5+ runs. go figure he starts out the season pretty good but then this happens. where's rex brothers when you need him, eh?

I left the house in the bottom of the 8th but I knew with LaTroy coming in they had a shot.

Credit to the cub pen and Hendricks for settling down.

Great win!!

Glad to see this team doesn't suck!!!

Move Castro to 2nd, Russell to SS, Bryant to 3B.

Get one more SP at the deadline and they will be in contention all year, then add 1 big free agent starter next off-season and they should be perennial contenders.

It's about fucking time.

It'll be overlooked, but to me the key was Wellington with two strikes on him, not over swinging and lining a base hit to center. Kept the game alive for Fowler.

Just think if Olt becomes a .240 guy with quality defense (which he has) and 25+ bombs per year (which is a given with enough AB's). That may be what they want to see and then move Bryant to LF. The other wild card of course is Baez. Castro basically then is insurance but Russell will be the SS of the future. That dude is smooth.

Agreed. I figured the game was over when he came to the plate.

Yep. No one noticed that but you. You've got a keen eye for the subtleties of the game.

That's why I hold your baseball insights among the highest on all of these interwebs. Well done.
