I don't know how this Robertson deal is going to look in a couple years but god damn does it look good now. I didn't realize just how fuckin nasty this guy is. Lock down stuff.

I'm really not worried about it, because right now its such a breath of a fresh air to basically limit teams to 8 innings, but Robertson is a closer through and through. He goes right into attack mode and doesn't let up.

11 of final 12 outs in that game were Ks...including the final 9 in a row. Used to see that from Sox batters...not Sox pitchers.

This is how you beat the Tribe. I've said it ad nauseum in this thread but Francona-ball collapses if opposing pitchers get K's. He may get the starter out an inning early but if you have decent guys to go to in the 7th and 8th and a dominating closer you crush them.

We Sox fans keep this in perspective knowing full well the day will come when he blows a save or two.

Sage advices from, my guy, pittmike.

If he ends the year with a solid K/ per innings pitched, a low walk rate and ~40 saves, I'll be a happy camper.

Its gonna happen!

Let him blow 4-5 saves during the regular season so he has that all out of his system for the post season 8)

How has Zach Duke been so far, really liked him for the Brewers last season?

Juiced told us all that none of the moves the Sox made mattered. The bullpen isn't better.

He was a bit shaky his first two times out, but has been really good since. Struck out the side in the 8th yesterday.

I liked him because he was not just a guy that got lefties out (which surprised me), he was really good against Righties also.

Stacking the lineup with lefties against Bauer. He's due for a bombing.

Bombs away.

Bombs over Bauer.

I have a feeling today will be a good day.

Losing pitcher J. Danks may be a winner!

John Danks was so good in 2008 that they pitched him on 3 days rest in the blackout game.

I wonder who was up in the rotation?

We were trying to remember who the Twins pitcher was (Nick Blackburn) and wiki'd it. I was surprised by the 3 days rest thing.

I think Gavin was up but they, thankfully, went with Big Winner J. Danks. That was a hell of a performance by him. It really was a shitty shame what happened to his arm. He was an am ace/upper tier 2 trajectory bit now I just hope he can be a dlgood back end guy that can get you 6.

Fuck John Danks. He has been a drag on this team from the moment he signed that contract.

It was completely forseeable that the pitching would not be competitive 2 out of every 5 games and it is now playing out. They cannot go on like this much longer and Hahn's hand will not be forced on Rodon.
