Well, it is unfortunate then that he sucks at 3B.

The subdivision wants Bryant to be a bust so hard. They scold Cubs fans for believing he could just walk into the Show and rake. However, his absence alone from the ballclub is why the Cubs have dropped two close games.

I don't exactly know which argument to believe.

well i'd be lying if i said that i have followed his minor league fielding stats, so perhaps he does indeed suck. the Cubs clearly have plans for him at 3B, so he must show them some kind of potential. I just had another crazy thought, too - what if somehow through hard work and experience he improved?

Um, you were the one who says he sucks at 3B now.

You said he would have already cost the Cubs a game at 3B.

no, i said he made 2 errors monday night and using the ridiculous "could have made a difference" meter those two errors could have have cost them a close game. or they couldn't have. or we will never know. outside of the one Tennessee Smokies game i attended and the one Iowa Cubs game attended and saw him play, I have no idea if he will be a good 3B or not. everyone who is stating he is a terrible third baseman i am assuming has seen him play and know what his skills are, right? i mean, people wouldn't just be going to baseball-reference and reading numbers and using that as the end-all be-all about whether the kid can play 3B, would they?

Just tell me what you think and if you think he is good at 3B please.

I read stats and listen to reports from people who have seen him play.

I dont think it's reasonable to expect fans to travel to minor league games to see prospects before they ever have an opinion.

i saw him play 2 games personally and he never made an error, so i think he is the greatest 3B i have ever seen. apparently in the games i DIDN'T see he made some errors. the Cubs system seems to think he has some potential there or they would have him in the outfield right now. perhaps they think he can improve.

my answer is an incomplete, i am not ruling out that he will never be able to play 3B and will end up in the outfield, but it appears to me they will give him a chance at 3B. without having seen a body of work, how can anyone say for sure? thats for Cubs management to decide.

Cool.

The meter stays at 2.

Rick very much likes people to make predictions, even after they've admitted they arent sure.

He likes people to have a record that he can refer to later.

This is a thread talking about how good Bryant is right now and the difference he would make.

Bryant will be a great player for the Cubs. No reason to be worried about the record later on him.

Not relevant in this thread though. MOFO was saying that Bryant would have cost the Cubs a game.

Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon is a parlour game based on the "six degrees of separation" concept, which posits that any two people on Earth are six or fewer acquaintance links apart. That idea eventually morphed into this parlour game wherein movie buffs challenge each other to find the shortest path between an arbitrary actor and prolific Hollywood character actor Kevin Bacon. It rests on the assumption that any individual involved in the Hollywood, California, film industry can be linked through his or her film roles to Kevin Bacon within six steps. The game requires a group of players to try to connect any such individual to Kevin Bacon as quickly as possible and in as few links as possible. It can also be described as a trivia game based on the concept of the small world phenomenon. In 2007, Bacon started a charitable organization named SixDegrees.org.

COULD, based on the randomness of this "meter".

Good.

The MLB meter is at 2.

You can be the meter's minor league analyst.

He can play where ever they put him.

If that is 3rd base, then he will be a liability with the glove.

Where he plays this year is based on offensive need. That is third base. He is more comfortable at 3B. Why make a change in the middle of a season?

Coghlan is good in LF. He isn't the long term LF for this club. Bryant may end up there. 3B to LF has been done countless times.

I'd rather Bryant be at 3B and Coghlan in LF and keep them both in the lineup.

You seem awfully sure of that.

I think if they want him to stick at third he can develop into a decent third baseman

So the meter ends at 1 or 0.
Interesting. All that crying and bullshit over, what we pretty much all said all along, nothing.
