First of all, I didn't get to hear the bit. But from what I understand, it seems Harry mad fun of the way Devin Hester said something. They've made fun of Mark Prior, Brian Urlacher, Dan Jiggetts, amongst others, for the way they spoke/gave interviews, and no one eer gave a crap.

Look, Harry might be a lot of things, but one thing he never seemed to me was is a racist. He probably just found it funny the way Hester spoke, and ran with it. It's not like he seemed to say anything as bad as this guy:

If he was saying that type of shit, then I'd understand people being pissed.

I have the day off today, so I'm free to post on this topic (by the way...Wednesday is an underrated day to have off).

Obviously Harry is not a racist. Hester can't talk at all. And that's what Harry was making fun of. He wasn't insinuating that ALL black people talk like that.

Unfortunately someone out there will take it that way. Which would be a shame. We make fun of a lot of white people for the way they talk as well. We've spent the last two weeks ripping Urlacher for being a douche.

That being said, he shouldn't have done the joke. Because we all know how those things get construed. Hopefully nothing comes of it and we can move on...until the next time someone says something controversial.

I don't think Harry's racist, dimwitted and unfunny, yes, but not racist.

I just can't believe that, not too long after the incident with Imus, that a filter in his walnut-sized brain didn't stop that from coming out of his mouth.

But that's an old joke that's probably been around since the early 1900's and mostly told by racist.

I don't know Harry at all and I, therefore, don't know that he isn't racist. I also don't really care what he says based on his history of low-class, no taste jokes. I have no problem if somebody is offended by his "jokes". I'm not, but if somebody is, I can certainly see their point. Based solely on his perceived on-air persona and assumed opinion of himself versus what comes out of his mouth...the only word I can think of to describe Harry is hypocrite. .... and not funny. I remember that. Moses said it in reference to the Sixers run to the title Fo-Fo-Fo and one mo. It was not a joke. In fact, I think it was on the cover of SI.

Let's back up for a second Spmack. What Dog and Harry said are two different things. Harry was attempting to be funny and what Dog said was meant with malice and the N-word that Dog used will get you destroyed in today's climate and if the man , being in a public eye and knowing the consequences by using it in any context wants to go ahead and use it , he better get ready to deal with the shit-storm that will follow and I think we all can agree that Harry was in no way attempting to go down that road.

We tend to want to jump on Harry at every turn on this board and I think we need to be fair and judge the man as a bad comic and not a raciest and leave all the other crap to people who have no lives and enjoy watching other people fail.
