The stadium is will absolutely electric today. I think the last time Wrigley had today's electricity was when Mark DeRosa returned in '09 after getting traded.

There is a press conference?

Usually the GM will do a conference call in these situations. Trout, Harper did.

Theo just had one.

Are you exaggerating? Was it him just talking to reporters?

What is the difference between the GM talking to 5 reporters or a full blown press conference? (IM not sure)

Anyway, the hype machine is on, cant deny that

Aren't you forgetting Kerry Wood day?

He had that one game where he was really good and they had to honor him for it!

I was at the game he retired in the middle of. He had just completed the super-human task of striking out Dayan Viciedo and his kid ran on the field.

Kerry Wood has a better career ERA and FIP than Mark Buehrle, and they have the exact same ERA+.

Does body of work make one a Hall of Famer?

Let's get Julio Franco in.

Also every pitcher with over 450 GS.

You and that old lady season ticket holder they always show during the 7th inning stretch are the only people on earth who think Wood had a better career than Buehrle.

Right into the fire batting clean-up! I figured they'd have him sixth or seventh for his first game.

Jimmy, remember all that time I said I was holding the bus for you, as I agree that years of pain allow you to get the pass for the bus, well beyond the deadline for many others.

Are you on yet?

So Kris Bryant is getting the call-up from the Cubs' Triple "A" farm in Iowa for Friday's Cubs' home game vs. the Padres at a still very much under construction Wrigley Field...I think this next track only seems fitting. It's the title track from this rocker's 15th studio album, which was released April 14th in this year. It's also the album that introduced a member of the 2015 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, albeit posthumously. The video for this track was directed by David Mallet, which was shot on location in Australia at a bar called Carinda in New South Wales & Warrumbungle National Park near Connabarabran. With help on guitar from Stevie Ray Vaughan, the "Class of '83" now continues with David Bowie's "Let's Dance":

I'm not letting injury take away from a player's skill.

Wood was a better pitcher than Buehrle on the mound. Buehrle was able to take the mound more.

Since statistics are your benchmark for letting players into the Hall of Fame, every pitcher with a 3.81 ERA or lower should now go in.
