All people who don't like the actions of the Roman Catholic Church are Nazi sympathizers? k

Not what I said.

And your bigotry toward Catholics is well documented as well.

The Catholic Church doesn't exactly have a historical record of enlightenment.

Your command of the facts is somewhere between an open hand to a female's face and the closed minds of CH and bigfan.

Enjoy.

Seacrest has long since defended the church when it comes to all of the sexual abuse scandals.

Interesting...

I feel like someone needs to check Seacrest's hard drives...

I thought it was common knowledge about the McCormack case....I don't have any inside info....I just assumed any nun or priest had interactions with rapist priests ...if u been in the archdiocese for ten plus years...if they did nothing.. They are complicent.... George straight up ignored this nasty shit for a very long time... Until the police n newspapers came to him.

It's funny how it's against the religion to serve pizza to gays at a gay wedding or to bake a cake for a gay wedding because it assumes endorsement of homosexuality, but the same religion will cover up homosexual pedophiles... does that imply explicit endorsement of homosexual pedophilia over the last 50 years or so until media pressure and lawsuits forced their hands?

He ignored nothing other than the recommendations of some of McCormack's own parishioners that he stay. And he was wrong and admitted it. Far from covering up the sins of the past administration, he went thru each case one by one.

If you want to blame someone locally for ignoring it, Cardinal George is the wrong guy. His predecessor is where that blame should be placed. He by the way, was wrongly accused by someone of being an abuser.

The Vatican released comprehensive statistics for the first time Tuesday on how it has disciplined priests accused of raping and molesting children, saying 848 priests have been defrocked and another 2,572 given lesser sanctions over the past decade

And this is the SELF REPORTED NUMBERS!!!!!!!!

-Tomasi said that since 2004, more than 3,400 credible cases of abuse had been referred to the Jesuit Father Hans Zollner, a member of the anti-pedophilia Pontifical commission including 401 cases in 2013 alone.

So they KICKED OUT 848 Priests for getting caught and Another 2500+ have been "demoted" for Lssor sanctions? Whats that? Hummers?

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/time-vatican-releases-wide-raning-statistics-priests-defrocked-rape-child-abuse-article-1.1781825

How many of these do you think go unreported due to the circumstances involved with the Priest being held in respect of a servant of god..blah blah blah...

They should ALL BE tried in a court system like anyone else...and those who 'Reassigned" them or knew of their "sins" should be doing some time as well.

The statute of limitations has run out unfortunately on many of the cases.

I have no problem with those who have abused and can still be charged being brought to trial. Or those who hid them.

Many cases do not involve children. Are you saying that priests that have consensual sex with another adult should be held for a crime? Is that even legal?

If there's one thing the Catholic Church has shown, and I am a Catholic, it's that they are on the level when it comes to addressing abuse cases. I'm sure Cardinal George was the beacon of light in the child abuse darkness.

The Catholic Church seems to have a couple of things going against them no matter what. One that no matter how they act from these recent times forward there will be no forgiveness from the public for the abuse actions. Second they are a big mainstream institution so they will be made fun of without any recourse.

The Catholic Church has to regain the trust they lost through their own actions or inactivity.

The irony in the thread is folks making false accusations about Cardinal George while wondering why something wasn't done sooner here, and in many other places.

FCG said himself he made "mistakes" of not doing anything about those he knew about.

Thats a crime....not a 'mistake'

but hey....the statute of limitations is in effect...but then the Church and FCG did 'the right thing' of exposing, defrocking or then reassignment?

I dont know the current working of the church, but do they actually still allow unsupervised meetings of minors and priests? Because that might be where I would start trying to fix the problem?
