Jim Paschke and Bill Schroeder sound almost exactly the same twenty years later. Weird.

I dont hire jagoffs or juniors like Rongey. I'd launch him post haste, which is exactly what I hope Mitch does next year.

This dope was lamenting how the Sox have been unfortunate to start the season against the two hottest teams. Apparently he is so dense he doesn't realize the reason they're so hot is largely due to playing the shitty White Sox.

A real manager would make the Sox better. Ventura was a great player, shitty manager.

No manager ever "made a team better".

Of course a manager can make a team better.

No we're not. I'm not arguing with that goof. He knows who winners and losers are without regard to their winning and losing. He knows certain managers improve teams without any evidence to support such a claim. The man just knows. Who could argue.

Sure they can. Maddon already has made the Cubs better just by his presence. I doubt Ricky would have this team playing as well.

Cub fans are expecting 70's dress up day to propel them to a World Series in 2016.

Maddon is the best manager. He should improve Jon Lester.

Don't recall arguing about it. Stating an opinion on a message board. Exchange of ideas. Pretty simple concept.

Jack mckeon took a sub 500 marlins team, both in 2002 and in 2003 before taking over, and won a world series with them. He's widely known for managing the pants off dusty.
It is absolutely ridiculous to say a manager can't make a team better. One of the dumber sports thoughts I've seen you have.
You think that if the players just decide which pitching match ups to play and decide themselves when to pull themselves out of games and when to steal and hit and run that the outcome of the game would be the same?
Save your name calling for when you have a defensible position.

Oh I get it now. Just more mindless Cubs bashing.

I'll buy that a manager can't make a player better. He can certainly make a player more successful. He can certainly make a team more successful.

No scooter he's talking about me because he says ridiculous things and when he gets called out for it he stomps his feet around and starts going on like a 5 year old and he doesn't like anyone disagreeing with his silly statements.

Jim Frey is the one who told Sandberg to start pulling the ball and quit hitting it on the fucking ground every time up. Seems to have helped make Ryno a much better player. Sandberg has said this many, many times.

There's countless examples proving his statement just plain wrong.
It doesn't matter.

Just bad luck the Sox 2015 schedule drew the hottest 19 teams in baseball.
