If the best we can say about a guy signed for 150 million giving up 3 ER in 5.1 IP ( 5.29 ERA) is that he wasn't bad Im pretty sure theres a problem.

This offense is not 'small ball.' The team is going to rely on long doubles and HR. Similar to the 2008 Cubs, but with less success.

I predict that the Cubs' offense benefits more from the nicer weather. The Cubs have more power than most teams.

The Cubs are currently in the lower half of the league in XBH. They will finish near the top in that statistic when all is said and done.

Even with the struggles of Lester, the Cubs are in the middle of the pack with ERA.

So yes, most signs point to the Cubs improving.
