That's not true though. As I said, Bryant had dominated the minors for a full year and then dominated spring training. Rodon had limited minor league innings and obvious control issues in spring training. Nobody thinks Rodon is the Sox best pitcher right now. The Cubs obviously believe Bryant is their best player as evidenced by his immediate insertion into the clean-up spot.

What you wrote is irrelevant.

This year was marketed as an "all-in" year. Rondon was one of the 25 best players in Spring Training.

Simple as that. White Sox sacrificed 11 games in an "all-in" year for 2021.

i was told he's the next carlton. i was disappointed a franchise with a billionaire owner was forcing the next carlton to toil in the minors in an "all-in" year.

i never got to see carlton. it's exciting to see there will be another one!

I'm interested in the corresponding move as Rodon has to be put on the 40 man roster. I think they can easily shitcan Kyle Drabek. Petricka should be ready to return also so they can give Guerra his walking papers too.

Just looking at the box scores quickly,

Atlanta - Freeman
TB - Longoria
Boston - Hanley (debatably their best hitter)
Washington - Harper
KC - Hosmer
Texas - Beltre

Several teams had a guy there due to a platoon situation. Mets would have had Wright there, but he's injured or resting.

In any case it's hard to say what JORR said is outlandish... often a team's best hitter is in that slot. But I suppose you're just arguing semantics again.

I guess 160 innings is the mystical number for rookies now. so he's in the pen until a move to the rotation will get him to around 160.
