Dont know if he is going to be a great fantasy player, unless you have a D stat, I think his biggest asset is how consistant he can be.

It may take a while before he's at his best, but he should be an upgrade over Alcantara and Herrera immediately. He should play SS, but I'm guessing they will put him at 2B. He is the better, more consistent SS, with more range. But with a Bryant, Castro, Russell and Rizzo infield, this should be lots of fun.

Curious to see where they bat him. I don't like the idea of him batting 7th in front of the pitcher.

9th is fine.

Experts (and I think we both agreed at some point) have said from the beginning that Starlin is no higher than a 6th hitter on a good team. That is finally being proven correct and you want to move him.

Russell hasn't hit RHP at all since getting hurt. I guess they're going to burn precious, precious service time for a platoon guy.

Russell has certainly been better against LHP

I think he'll murder Lefties and do just well enough against Righties.

I wonder if Theo and Hoyer meant to promote James Russell to help out the bullpen, and just used his surname when talking to a reporter. The reporter ran with it as Addison, and it was too late for Theo and Hoyer to clear it up.

I know it's not the be all end all, but I love the L/R lineup. I have nothing but my opinion to back this up, but I gotta believe it messes with the opposing teams bullpen plans. Always hated yet admired it when LaRussa did it with St. Louis.

I agree. I'd like to see some stats, but I think there is some truth to a pitcher getting a rhythm attacking so many righties in a row.
