That is a good lineup and rotation, but there are plenty of faults for Hendry beyond 2003-4. the wheels certainly fell off for Jim....starting with the fact that he could never collect enough 2B players. Then there was the fact that he loved giving away no-trade clauses. and let's not forgot contracts for Hawkins, Milton Bradley, Soriano, and others.

no it's not, the early 00s cubs at least had pitching. can you imagine this cubs team coming across the mets in the playoffs 2-3 years from now? that rotation is going to fuck their shit up.

They look like they might go on a nice run for a few years. Like they did back then. Nothing wrong with recognizing good things on the horizon.

But the "it's baseball" thing works for the Mets too. This isn't the first time they've had a bunch of lauded starters all coming at once- Isringhausen, Wilson, etc. Of course, they've had a couple groups that actually did something too.

touche, but harvey degrom and matz have all had their TJ surgeries already and wheeler just had his now. the only one left is syndergaard but hey, i'll still take my chances. if all things are equal and you've got matt harvey and jon lester squaring off in game 1 who do ya got?

Its nice to have young talent. Sometimes it works (Yankees, Giants, Phillies) sometimes it doesnt (Indians, Mets, Brewers)

All things arent equal. Harvey is awesome but who knows. Johan Santana was unstoppable and then...he stopped.

Maybe one of them will pull a Zack Greinke and quit baseball. Ya just never know, especially with pitching.

They do look poised to have a great rotation if it works out.

But even great rotations dont work. That game one Lester or whoever pitches for whatever team has the game of his life and the Mets lose. Then in game 2 the defense implodes and now the dominant rotation is down 0-2 and going on the road

We probably need a 7 game first round

hey if given a choice i'll take the dream staff to handle the dream lineup.
