You're right. The Cubs are fucked. There are absolutely no other revenue streams except for the outfield signage. The Cubs have been giving away all tickets, merchandise, concessions, and the games are broadcast for free.

We've been had!

This guy is really good. It was a little crazy to suggest he's the best pitcher in Chicago but not anymore. He's legitimately great.

Going forward: Lester, Sale, Robertson, debatably Quintana, Rodon and in your mind Edwards

I'd still take Sale and that's probably it. However, for the conversation to no longer be outlandish shows the rise of Arrieta.

The run of dominance is still in its infancy as combining last year and this year he's a little over 200 innings. But what a run he's currently on.

It's becoming completely intolerable. I used to somewhat enjoy it, to be honest... even despite posts like that.

I call it the Hawk Harrelson syndrome(HHS). Years and years of listening to this homer has caused Sox fans to start thinking like him.

You would have to be devoid of any self reflection to not notice the irony in your statement.

Its hard to have baseball conversations because if anyone says any random-ass Cubs prospects is anything short of first ballot HOF they got shouted down. They wont admit that Avisail Garcia is much better than 30% whiff-rate Jorge Soler, even though they are both 23 years old.

OTOH they have no problem comparing Anthony Rizzo to Mike Trout (LOL).

You would have to be devoid of a sense of humor not to realize that my comment was quite clever

.327/.446/.599 = 1.045 OPS with 11 HR, 18 2B, 2 3B, 35 RBI, 10 SB

or

.286/.373/.558 = .931 OPS with 16 HR, 11 2B, 0 3B, 33 RBI, 8 SB

You decide.

I'm not sure Abreu will even be in the league in 2 years. Dayan Viciedo vibe...

Needless to mention, I know, but Arrieta is definitely better than Clayton Kershaw.

Arrieta is the guy I would have starting any postseason run, should one be produced. I said before last season began, that I saw him as the strongest motivation I had to watch the Cubs season unfold. Then, he was injured and could not pitch in April and got started a bit late. But he went on to have a real nice season. When people said the Cubs needed to go out and sign an ACE to their staff, I said they already had one in Arrieta, but could surely use another top of the rotation starter and though they over-paid for Lester, I was happy they got another guy who had a history of winning and pitching 200 innings per year. Now the Cubs need to look at extending Arrieta and making sure he is a part of the long term future. He is the ace.

We're spoiled when Arrieta gives up 2 ER over seven innings against the best team in baseball and we feel disappointed in his statline.
