I'll admit I'm a little bummed. There was this glee I got last year when loading up the box scores and being able to identify Baez on his 0-4 3K line alone.

Baez will see the majors again in a few years for some garbage ass team who traded away a guy with 4 Tommy John surgeries to get him.

I'm DB'ing the Cubs for not selling out one year for youth. Let Baez play in the majors. Sending him down is just going to further erode his confidence, making him even harder to trade or reclaim. Bad move, Cubs. Stop thinking you're contending this year.

Bump.

Abreu is behind last year's HR pace.

Also, Luis Valbuena also has 5 HR. Is Luis Valbuena one of the greatest power hitters in the game?

Yes...and Theo traded him for a no glove CF.

Luis was a no-glove infielder, so it all works out. The Cubs haven't had trouble scoring runs with Dexter Fowler at leadoff. His ability to draw walks / OBP is solid, and should improve when he gets some hits. Eventually.

Cubs have just about everything going for them right now. I expect to look on this as their best period of baseball for the year.

Except pitching. Pitching can improve.

Now pitching is good. Offense can improve.

It balances out his 10 TB with no strikeouts the other night.

He is batting .350 with a 1.021 OPS with RISP this season.
