You're thinking of Allan Sherman, jimmy. But "They're Coming To Take Me Away" was by Napoleon XIV and I'm pretty sure he wasn't Allan Sherman. That one was a Dr. Demento staple.

You are right....so I googled him.
Allan Sherman (born Allan Copelon;[1] November 30, 1924 – November 20, 1973) was an American comedy writer and television producer who became famous as a song parodist in the early 1960s. His first album, My Son, the Folk Singer (1962), became the fastest-selling record album up to that time. His biggest hit single was "Hello Muddah, Hello Fadduh", a comic novelty in which a boy describes his summer camp experiences to the tune of Ponchielli's Dance of the Hours.
Death[edit]
Late in his life, Sherman drank and ate heavily which resulted in a dangerous weight gain; he later developed diabetes and struggled with lung disease.[10] In 1966, his wife Dee filed for divorce and received full custody of their son and daughter.[citation needed]

Sherman lived on unemployment benefits for a time and moved into the Motion Picture & Television Country House and Hospital near Calabasas, California for a short time to lose weight.[10] He died of emphysema at home in West Hollywood ten days before his 49th birthday. He is entombed in Culver City, California's Hillside Memorial Park Cemetery.[11]

I'm 51. I think those songs are actually both before my time, but I would occasionally listen to Dr. Demento on Sunday nights. I'm not sure you can still play "Kinko the Clown" on commercial radio.

The "Camp" song was 1963.

I'd really like to but its part of the agreement with the NFL and the city of Chicago for the NFL Draft that his nonsense is given less outlets.

I just hope it isn't a permanent ban. Permanent bans are rarely good for anyone.

I'd say a week or two in the box would be good for him. If he comes back and decides to do the same stuff then a few more weeks in the box.

What? No.

How many chances do you get? At some point, when it is temporary or short term (especially when that is known), Frank will just continue being Frank. I was all for bringing Leash and FF back too, but not if they have no intention of keeping a peace. Chus came back, and is just fine. He is still Chus...it isn't like he is bowing to bigfan left and right. But he also doesn't dissent just to cause headaches and get laughs.

I still would like the old FF and Leash back. But that won't happen. If they come back, they will act like children. And I like FF. But I'm telling it straight.

You just don't like Frank. It's ok. It doesn't change the fact that he was important here.

We can only lose so many people before the whole thing falls apart.

I just don't like the concept of permanent bans. People can change their behavior. A permanent ban makes that impossible.

With all four teams playing tonight, let's hold off on that ... we can only take so many letdowns in one day.

We'd lose about 10 more posters today if that were the criteria.

It's a sad day on this board when people are actively supporting the permanent banning of Frank.
