After watching Chris Rock, I was talking this over with my son (a hotheaded pitcher). We both agreed that the guy who crushes one, owned it & deserves a bat flip and reasonable home run trot. We both like them, just like we both(all?) like NFL kill shot videos. (FWIW, neither of us are white, FoxNews viewers, and only one of us is old)

The only guys who deserve shots are the assholes who leaned into curveballs on the prior AB, assholes like Rizzo or Clemens and their best guy coming up after two of your own guys got hit.

So you think the NFL has at least 105 years left?

I'm just saying, once the writing was on the wall for USS they died pretty quickly, and they were the largest company in the world. The world!

For now the NFL is fine because the USA has an appetite for it that seemingly cannot be quenched, but things change. Sometimes they change very quickly.

(US Steel still exists but barely)

I just want to know when this will happen. People love to talk about the "death of football" like all of these billionaires and fans are just going to say "Screw it, lacrosse is now what we will own and watch!".

I could see a sport surpassing football eventually. It happened to baseball. Football isn't going away.

Wasn't the death of football predicted in the like 1905? A few dudes died, people cried, the rules were adjusted and here we are today.

Anyone who uses the phrase "death of football" deserves to be told they are wrong.

It may change or decline from the astronomical popularity it has now but it isn't going anywhere.

Should your reaction continue to be similar to the BERNSY TAINT U DREAM TO LICK continue....I think we would only be OVERanalyzing the definition of the "death of football" As figures continue to roll out parents are making the decision not to allow their kids to play football....Little Leagues numbers are down....but not as much due to lack of interest but due to children having other options to play the game besides within Little League. Just look at the growth of the Prep Baseball Report in the past 5 years alone as an example. As baseball is not completely safe...of course NONE safer than hockey GOALIE!! I love football...but there will be a STEEP decline...however you want to conveniently define it for you to be right....you will do so.

You used the term. Not me.

I guess by "death of football" you actually meant "some decline in popularity of football and less youth participation". I don't know how I missed that.

I dont know when it will happen. I do think the NFL is kinda screwing up now trying to make the season 12 months long. Eventually people will realize 'events' like the draft are pretty fucking boring and training camp is pointless to follow. Fans can need to kept away from what they want in order to value it. The 3 months I go through where there's no baseball news whatsoever only whips me into a crazed frenzy come ST and April. In those 3 months I would kill for something to happen in baseball, so in absence of any of that I just sit around looking forward to the season.

Football will undoubtedly continue to exist in some form or another as long as there is a Texas and The South. Saying football will die in those places is like saying the cheeseburger will disappear from the Great American Menu.

I dont hate football btw. It was the only sport I was good at growing up.

I'm just a little tired of it because I'm back in Chicago and people here FREAK OUT about everything the Bears do.

Agreed on all except hitting after two of your guys get hit. the best retaliation is still putting up a WIN. "Bean ball" is stupid in any scenario.
