Yesterday was fine. I think he could have gotten thru the 6th

But if he goes around 6 innings and keeps the team in it (i.e. keeps it to 3ish runs) than he's done all I expect out of him.

Yeah, this is why I bring up QS. I know a worst case QS is a 4.5 ERA, but you're keeping your team in it. And at the back end of the rotation, with this offense, I'm okay with 6 IP and 3ER. But at least give me those 6 IP so I don't have to see Schlitter.

"This offense"...like there is some track record you can rely upon.

They most likely are playing the best offensive ball they will play all year, unless you believe Bryant is going to hit .500, Castro .400 and Soler .350

Are they going to hit better than these current averages. If not, then they are playing their best offensive baseball.

Oh, batting averages. Lovely. Let's talk OPS.

Rizzo, Soler, Montero, Russell, Fowler, and the left-field platoon of Coghlan and Denorfia all are likely to increase their OPS over the course of the season. Sure...Bryant's numbers will come down to earth, though he will still be great. And Castro's OPS of .843 will be higher than where he finishes, but he had a OPS over .800 well into last season. And with the way he was going before he got hurt, he might have ended up with an OPS over .800.

So no, this offense has NOT maximized their offensive output. You using batting average speaks volumes.

On the other hand there are things that aren't going great like the power numbers from Rizzo and Bryant (2 HR) and Coghlan and Montero obp

Itll all even out but I suspect this lineup will be pretty solid offensively
