offensive fouls, clear path fouls, goal tending....
i just dont think a group of refs in a room would be any different than the guys on the court. this isnt football where they have to walk 50 yards to the replay booth. its right there, like 50ft away.
it takes a bit of time just to get the replays set and shown anyway. and no matter what they all need to talk to eachother first, get the initial call, then look at the replay and debate it. if you had to wait for a phone call from some office you would have everyone just standing around looking at themselves... and even worse, when the call comes in and the refs on the court dont agree with it, now you have disgruntled refs and that can be detrimental to the nba game. again, refereeing in the NBA is not like any other sport. there IS a ton of grey area, tons of calls that can go either way and it really is up to the refs to decide who is playing better basketball and give them the benefit of the doubt when they do.
