the brewers are god-awful this year. you look up at their scores and they're down like 6-2 in the 4th inning or something. jimmy nelson started off nice but didn't regress towards the mean in his last start as much as he ran towards pretty fucking bad like the police were chasing him.

if the cubs are as good as everyone's hoping they are they should summarily dismiss these clowns and hand roenicke a jeter-style gift basket on the way out.

You can throw the record books out when these two teams get together

Lester probably gets smacked around today and they lose one of the other two because they're decent but not THAT good and their due for a bad break.

No way they lose 2 outta 3 to this Brewers team. They're THAT bad.

Thanks Kirkwood!

I'm hoping the Brewers do not "wake up" yet...and I'd like to see another series victory, if not a sweep. I'll take 2 of 3 though.

braun's been in total decline over the last 5 seasons. everything has been consistently going down over this period of time, save a modest uptick in HRs and one more RBI from years 1-2 in that 5 year window. right now he's got 4HR and 10RBI, but those 4HR are his only XBH.... so i'd guess that he's swinging for the fences desperate to get a bunch of HRs and shut up the haters who are claiming he's noticeably lesser without his steroids/crack-legal-staff.

but hey can you blame him? those wonderfully fashionable remetee shirts don't exactly sell themselves...

I'd throw at Braun and try to hit him right between the bug eyes in his first at bat. Let him know it's not the same old Cubs.

Was Starlin Versteeg involved somehow?

Castro has been outstanding this year. You'll need to find someone else to hate. I suggest David Ross

No doubt he's been great. He will lose a game somewhere along the line because his head is up his ass at some point though. Something that was preventable .

Remember you already discounted this game because it's just the Brewers

You knew Castro was grounding into a double play there. The guy can't elevate anything when it matters most.

I'd like to think our 150 million stud can beat a 5 win team, yes.

Do you think his paycheck makes him more likely to beat the Brewers than Arietta who makes far less?

Of course not, because the money doesnt matter.

Its nice to see Lester put two good starts together. Not watching live today but in Cinci he was really rounding into form.

Hard to tell since, sadly, almost nothing has mattered since he was called up

Will that form get him under a 6 ERA? Here's hoping.

2 HR

HR always matters, unless you're Jose Abreu.

So are you in full out root against him to prove skepticism right mode?

Be honest...

EDIT: It might go below 5 today! (but ERA doesnt matter)
