There's a lot to like about him but he is the left's equivalent of Rand Paul...no chance.

If people called Obama a socialist, I can only imagine what they'd call a real one.

they call him "america's senator" on the thom hartmann show, prolly the best political talk show i've heard in my days on this earth. who else is gonna let you on air on chicago fridays to air out your concerns about the apparent death of posse comitatus ~6+ years ago?

...and now they're gonna have these jade helm guys working on infiltrating the public sector and seeing how they can blend in!

"roles change... without us noticing!" - AARP commercial

but yeah bernie's gonna get eaten alive by the machine here.

capitalism had its place. it was great for us up until about 1970's. times have changed, we can't consume ever more and more. socialism is necessary in the modern world if we want to coexist and survive.

and before everyone cries out for capitalism, just remember it has lead us to plutocracy. 80 people hold half the world's wealth. that is not an accusation, it is a fact. we are all being screwed.

As one who tends to side with true conservatism (financial only), I very much agree with you, Ike. The problem is, Socialism always loses to greed. If there were a means to implement it in a pure sense, I'd welcome it, but the reality is, greed will always dictate we are stuck with a bastardized version of Capitalism or a bastardized version of Socialism.

i see capitalism as 'survival of the fittest'... or, darwinism. We got this far because we implemented that ideology, just like nature does. It really is how you win.

But the problem is, just like in nature, once you win you can easily over use your resources. Species all over the planet have proved this. Once there is too many of one kind, the planet will kick your butt back into submission every time.

So like i said, we did it out of necessity, and that's great, but it's time to stop. It's time to take care of eachother.

I actually do think our government knows this, and thats why we have a mix of socialism... And I also think its why they are trying to create a one-world government, because like you said if we don't then we will always be forced into capitalistic mode just to survive. That whole illuminati conspiracy thing I do think has some truth to it, but from everything I have learned about them they are not necessarily evil... they're trying to do what they know they need to do and that includes sacrifices (wars) along the way.. but once we have unified collaboration, we can shift focus to equality over superiority.

so here we are entering August 2015.

I like Bernie. I like the fact that he's an Independent. I like the fact that he's gaining momentum through a very grass-roots effort. I like the fact that one of his few standing points is income inequality.

My question is....how does he plan to fix? I've seen nothing specific on how he feels this should get fixed.

Educate me.

He doesn't know how he would do anything. It's all talk.
