The Cardinals would have 7 runs off this bum already. This is frustrating.

He's pitching well today tho. Or the catcher is calling a good game. Every big pitch call has been a good one.

Cubs look uncomfortable at plate too

I DO take Mike Fiers seriously.
Dude flat-out knows how to pitch.

I still don't understand how he does it.
White Magic probably

Rizzo daydreaming and a run scores in the 8th. Castro couldn't stop a routine grounder and a run scores earlier. 18 strikeouts against a crap pitcher is horrendous. Arrieta deserved a better faith.
After the homer,a couple of soft Texas leaguers fell in for a couple more runs.

It would be nice if they could move Castro for more pitching. He's not a guy I see a team winning it all with at middle field. Ground ball machine who can't field. I get a Game 6 Alex Gonzalez vibe.

Trading the team's best hitter makes sense.

Horrid series. Cubs look at fastballs and hanging breaking balls down the middle and then swing at high heat and sliders in the dirt. I'm hoping this is just a little slump and not the Cubs being who we thought they were.

Most concerning is Bryant. Great players drive 94 mph fastballs, not routinely whiff on them. Scarey bad series for him.

I Wasn't able to see any games in this series but my buddy said Bryant looked brutal.

Now it will be interesting to see how they fight through this.

Yea, he was brutal.

Once he came out the gate hot we saw teams start throwing him a ton of off speed stuff. Well the Brewers just threw him a ton of fastballs and he was late on everything. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt right now because he's adjusting but I'm not a patient person.

And the Cardinals keep winning.

Cubs now 4 1/2 out IIRC.

Whole fucking league beats up on these turds and the Cubs cant hit their pitching. Classic young team inconsistency.

Smart team. Make a change while there is still time to improve. Hint. White Sox.

I'm not sure a HOF level manager could make that a .500 team. It's a bad team. Same with the WS i suspect, but I haven't viewed enough WS baseball to be certain.

True. But they are willing to do something to try to be better. I look for Ron Gardenhire to be next manager of the Brewers. Tomorrow.

Silly

Cubs are still what we thought they were, slightly above average.

I see a whole lot of first time baseball fans in this thread. Welcome to the greatest sport in the world!

That being said, even the best MLB teams each season have series such as this one.

But I love the overreactions. Blissful ignorance is so cute!

90 wins average = wild card (since the inception of two wild cards) according to Hit and Run yesterday
