I used to love college basketball also. From adolescence through early adulthood. I fall asleep on just about every college game that I watch these days. If you ever want to know how good the NBA is just look at how so many of the so-called great college players struggle once they make it to the NBA.

It's becoming harder to decide which fans are more sensitive about people not liking their league/sport. NBA/MLB/NHL.

Used to be NHL by a mile but MLB and NBA fans have skyrocketed their bitchiness and sensitivity.

I think there is some element of truth to that but it's probably because of the vast amount of "I hate the NBA proclamations" that you hear.

It's not simply that they don't like the league it's that they go out of their way to tell you how much they don't like the league. I don't like a lot of sports but I don't go out of my way to tell the world how much I don't like other sports.

I stated that it doesn't make one a racist because they don't like basketball. That's not fair.

There are anti-hockey people who are very vocal about their hatred for hockey and the NHL. You can find proof of that on this very board.

I do agree that you won't find alot of bigoted people enjoying basketball but I've known a few people in my lifetime that hate black people with a passion yet love hoops and the NBA while despising hockey.

I liked hoops as a kid and Hoop Dreams is still one of my favorite movies but overall I can't stand the sport anymore. Every year I got older I started finding the game incredibly stupid and boring. I really do dislike the NBA at this point and I usually keep it to myself but with some of the anti-hockey, anti-hawks stuff on this board it's fun giving shit back.

Now if you were to look at the popularity in this country, obviously NBA dominates. In the city of Chicago, not so much. If you want to do some research you can find that the Hawks are right there with the Bulls in tv ratings, even drawing higher ratings at times. Not surprising because as I've said numerous times now, Chicago is a hockey city. If anyone wants to point out how hockey was dead here only a decade ago then I'd like them to try and tell me how any franchise of any sport survives what Bill Wirtz did. Like IMU and Scorehead, all my friends are talking about the Hawks and nothing about the Bulls. If you were to look at the TV ratings nationally when the Bulls are on TNT or ESPN and the Hawks are on NBC or NBCSN, it's not even close, Bulls in a route.
