Wolfley, you've got a definite edge to your posts. I am not sure if it's the avatar or what you keep typing, but I like it.

The Bulls are only good because GarPax drafted Jimmy Butler. Thibodeau should be thankful he even has a job.

This is like a movie about Thibs where he has to win a title to even keep his job

"He does things well. He's a great advance scout." This whole thing feels so icky.

"Paxson and Forman want a coach they don't have to control from above." No, that's exactly what they want!

Wouldn't Thibodeau coach the Cavs the exact same way, or would GM LeBron put a stop to that?

Dan's full of crap saying that Thibodeau would max out as a very good advance scout. When the Bulls fire him, he'll be a head coach in Orlando or New York. What a sorry attempt at burying the guy.

How would he not be immediately hired by some team as their head coach, to think not is crazy.

I am more perplexed on why we are having a Thibs show at all. Review the game last night or Cubs or God forbid the Hawks tonight. No lets talk imaginary coach soap opera.

I would guess there is no soap opera:

Management (Dan) Good
Thibs Bad

Holy shit did he really come back to this? Is the 'big piece' ready for the web yet?

You can have an argument that Thibs overworks his players but using that as 'statistical' support is comically bad.

Terry TOLD US yesterday that the Bulls would beat the Cavs in this series. So that matches up...

It is so Dan though. Pick some innocuous stat that sounds interesting to some as you beat it to death when it really means nothing.

Dan loves anyone who was in the CBA, even if they weren't in it at the same time. He had a thing for Flip Saunders, too.

This is probably some bizzaro radio in which thankfully I'm not listening. There was a report on NBC Sports echoing that management was not happy with Tibs but the story was short on specifics, giving it an "echo chamber" effect. And while there have been other "successful" coaches who've been fired {Mark Jackson, George Karl}, management wasn't shy in expressing what it was they didn't like and/or why.

The problem with getting into bed too comfortably with management is that when they shit the bed, as they have a strong penchant, one comes smelling like shit. Tibs has his flaws but he was hired to win games, its what coaches and players want to accomplish. As to the question of player development, Taj Gibson could start for many teams and Jimmy Butler has become an All-Star. I see Tony Snell also coming into his own after these playoffs. Any argument that he works his players too hard is countered by the lack of examples where teams coasted all season and then suddenly turned it on in the playoffs and won. As for statistics Dan cites or praises, he has proven repeatedly that he knows very little about numbers beyond someone else explaining to him what they might mean.

I know a few people can't help but side with Dan, but apply some common sense to what he is saying as opposed to trying to twist it into something so complicated, and thus borderline ridiculous. Also, to parrot what was on the NBC site, this continuous front office strife reflects upon poor ownership that wins over very few fans.

That is quintessential Musselman...he had work the crowd and team into such a frenzy in pregame warm ups this was the result

Here's a question for Dan:

How does firing Tom Thibodeau get you closer to a title?

Minute restrictions. Paxson won't have to control the fourth coach he'll get to hire because the coach will be on his best behavior already. That is what Dan said.

I hope they fall flat on their fucking faces if or when they fire Thibs. I've gone from loving Paxson as a player to despising him as an "executive".

Until that next coach realizes he keeps his job by WINNING not counting MINUTES.

this is what confuses me. He presents the management side of the argument as being the right side on every issue. his unnamed sources literally HAVE to be management people, he has zero sources on the player side of the argument.

baldy mcgrindy in a recent spot hosting duty tried to question whether blindly trusting management sources was a wise thing but obviously that fell on deaf ears.

On coaching ability this is how I rank Bulls coaches
1.Thibs
2.Motta
3.Phil

I cut my basketball teeth on the A-Train. That is as far back as I can go. I think I had a Boerwinkle card and thought it was funny like Bullwinkle.
