Bullpen has been overused. Starters have been....OK I guess.

I'm not riled. I'm sticking with my 2018 prediction.

Thanks Matt unlike the Inquisitor you can answer an honest question without the devolving into the muck.

Starters can't seem to get thru 6 lately exposing the shit middle relief.

Cardinals long relief shuts Cubs down while they add on. Cubs do the opposite.

J Russell will help. Grimm will be healthy soon. Rogue is correct...middle relief is bad.

Schlitter, Germen, Coke...not good.

Rosscup, Strop (except last 2 games), Rondon have been good. Wada should be decent.

I do like Hendricks, but with his limited stuff, he CANNOT walk people. Have to find a different fifth starter if he continues this.

Well if they don't get swept it will be a minor miracle. Its like if they get a fucking lead they are required to give it right back vs this team.

Rest of league has figured Hendricks out. T. Wood should be mop up guy not 11 mil yr. E Jax. Bullpen a mess. Looks like same old Cubs. Oh well. Next year. Gonna be 8 out by time they leave STL.

Was the division a realistic goal in 2015?

Calm your tits.

No, it wasn't. You were misjudging the team's improvement, and the talent of opponents.

The Cubs are mid to high 80-something win team. If the Cubs get another starter, maybe that changes.

I don't think people were guaranteeing divisions.

I'm still a fan of this team. They are immensely better than the last few seasons. They are a wild card contender.

The Cardinals are good. I watch this series and I think the Cubs are pretty good. But the Cardinals are on a higher level in 2015.

Cubs fans should still be excited. But there are tiers of excitement. We should not be on the highest tier.

Right now...the Cubs seem like they will have lost four in a row. This will happen a few times this season.

The Cubs should balance it out with several four game winning streaks.

After tonight, Cubs are 13-12. That is a .520 winning percentage.

84 wins over the course of a season.

I believe I predicted 83-79. Going lower now.

If there's one way to judge your team, it's definitely two games out of 162.

Still high on the team...the bummer was losing to the Brewers.....but then giving up these games to St Louis....that hurts in the manner it has gone. I didnt expect them to win in St louis...but I figured after 5-0 first, looked like I was wrong....but Ughhhhh.....and even tonight up 4-1.....

With many other things going for them. Ran the starters with tons of pitches, St L with a limited pen, etc....

That bummed me out....

These 2 have been 2 of the 42!

"Gonna win 60, gonna lose 60...its what you do with the other 42 that matters"

1984 totally affects 2015.

You've totally trounced all my opinions and statements about the 2015 Chicago Cubs.

Oh my. I totally forgot to factor in 1984. How silly of me.

Totally.

Yea these losses suck but nice to see Addison Russell settle in.

This kid could be the real deal, coupled with Rizzo and Bryant gives them 3 long term guys. Soler is due to get hot as well so not giving up on him. Castro seems like he is getting psyched out seeing his replacement at SS so interesting to see how this dynamic develops.

And yes, they need another stud starter.

Hopefully Lester and Arrieta step it up and maybe we can get the split.

1 better win at least to avoid a fucking sweep.

And yes St Louis is just on a major roll right now and Matt Carpenter was an incredible find as a 9th Round draft pick. Lucky bastards.

Cubs fans can take a little solace in that Cardinals traded a guy (Shelby) who just tossed 9 shutout innings and is now rocking 1.66 ERA for one year defensive RF rental?

i dunno, not much else to celebrate

Horrible play by Castro in the 7th, knocking into Russell on an easy grounder that was clearly going to be handled by Russell. Surprised they didn't score an error on Castro. Len even commented it was a "team error" even though Russell did nothing wrong.

Picking Carpenter in the 9th Round was not being good at their jobs. Maybe developing his talent was, but clearly they found a steal that late in the draft.

But yes as an organization they are damn good.

Didn't you know great players can only be found at the top of the draft after tanking a season?
