Shepherd smith is a weirdo.

I don't know if mcd's can get their customers back. It's kinda weird how it's viewed has changed so drastically. Are other fast food places floundering?

you know how america is... once something is 'not cool' any more it becomes like acid in the face

they say its the millenials that dont like mcdonalds fashion sense, and the long time customers have realized the food is bad for you

its why places like panera bread and chipotle are doing so well. those are fast food too, but at least they arent too unhealthy. and they have nice atmospheres to eat in

why mcdonalds refuses to shed their child like attire is beyond me. just stop it. your product isnt good enough to get kids 'hooked' for life. cater to the parents, the kids will be dragged there anyway. you can keep the happy meals, but change everything else about your 'restaurant'. or go out of business, youre hoarding all the chicken anyway

McDonalds should kill with the $1 drinks. It's $2 for a large at Wendy's, fuck that noise.

2 years ago I went on a diet and swore off all fast food. I know many folks who have done the same.

I rarely eat fast food as the dainties in my house refuse to eat leftovers and I abhor wasting food. I get stuck eating week old stuff when I want something fast for late dinner or a weekend lunch.

I don't mind Mc Donalds. However, there are so many great fast food options around this city with unique products. Chicago dogs, Italian beef, gyros, even a pizza puff all are better than what the national chains can offer

"Fast casual" is eating into fast food's market share:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/won ... sual-food/

Chipotle--the best example and largest player in the fast casual game-was once owned by McD's....Shake Shack and Panera and that homophobic chicken place, I think, are other examples of fast-casual restaurants.

chipotle does a great job marketing itself as healthy when it's in fact terrible for you

I love the stuff, but who are these people who actually thinks it's healthy? I know damn well it isn't, but I also only eat there maybe once a month.

i think theres a growing perception that "natural" = healthy.

as if sour cream or cheese from cows not given hormones means it's 20 calories.

well, the thing is they allow customization...so it can be as healthy or unhealthy as you want, within reason
i generally get brown rice, black beans, protein, fajita veggies and 3 of the salsas....that's not too bad for a fast food/fast casual meal.

Ok, Ikesouth, but if anyone catches you eating at McDonald's we hand you over to ISIS, smothered in bacon, wearing a charlie hebdo mohammed cover t-shirt and holding a burning Koran.

i look at it as the system of fast food itself. no matter where you get it, chiplotle or mcdonalds... their stuff is trucked in and has to remain 'on the shelf' for weeks.

its hard enough for supermarkets to do it, but their turnover is much higher and consistent... when you eat that meat from a grocery store its usually the freshest youre going to find... aside from going right to a meat slaughterhouse or a farmers market

but fast food places must warehouse hoards of their shit in regional buildings, then deliver it weekly to their stores. it adds another layer of stale, which is when they start adding preservatives to make the stuff seem as fresh as you get in the grocery store. problem is, those preservatives prevent bacteria from eating that food.... and your gut uses bacteria to digest that food. its only logical that the preservatives will prevent your body from properly digesting that food, and it makes a MUCH bigger difference than most people realize.

those who stopped eating out and cook everything at home know what im talking about. it can be a life changing practice. hell, i can dunk a basketball now!!!!!!

i agree.

but say you go to mcd's and order a big mac, med fries and diet coke.
cal: 860
fat: 43g
sat fat: 12g
trans fat: 1g
cholesterol:85mg
sodium: 1180mg

then chipotle you get a burrito, brown rice, black beans, chicken, fresh salsa, cheese
cal: 920
fat: 32.5g
sat fat: 9g
trans fat: 0g
cholesterol: 155mg
sodium: 1825mg

you can drop 300 calories easy by getting a bowl, no cheese/sour cream etc

but if you gave the two choices i bet most people would say chipotle item is far healthier.

thats fine. when i got that mcflurry and fries that was the first time i ate there in at least a year. i was stoned and mcd's was the only place open and i was starving. the tastes of the oil on the fries made everything seem gross, and i have zero desire to ever eat there again. the food is just disgusting.

you have to think about what mcd's does to process and preserve their items as well. your body cant digest the good parts that were there when the food was fresh and it fast absorbs the bad carbs and sugars... its just the worst type of 'food' you can put into your body.

to pretend chipotle is that much different is naive.

chipotle to me is the housewife who is so proud b/c she cracked two eggs and poured some milk into her instant cake mix instead of running to the bakery to buy a cake.

Egga muffin.

I eat a lot of garbage food. Stuff like sandwiches, tins of tuna, chicken...something like that...from a chain store...soda.
