Rodon. I think it's more difficult to find an ace than a top hitter without a real position. Not that I'm saying Rodon is or will be an ace. Just that I'd take that gamble.

Bryant could be the greatest hitter that ever lived. Rodon could be the greatest pitcher that ever lived.

These are bad thoughts.

Fact is...top shelf power hitters are in demand right now. Bryant has a great chance at being that. Washington Nationals have five aces and are 17-15.

Hendricks began his career dealing. Settle down, Sox fans. Give him 30 starts before you anoint him.

Rodon isn't even the best starter the Sox have just as Bryant isn't even the best hitter the Cubs have.

This is due to their organizatoinal philosophy to not offer a 2nd contract to starting pitchers who've had Tommy John surgery (Zimmermann and Strasburg). Zimmermann will be gone this year and Strasburg after next year.

Power isn't just home runs. I wouldn't call a guy with a less than .750 OPS a power hitter.

How many busts with "electric stuff" do you want me to name? You name Kerry Wood as a bust all the time. Start there.

You'd be ECSTATIC if Carlos Rodon has the career Kerry Wood had.

And yes, that is exactly what you'd be saying to Cubs fans right now if roles were reversed.

Yeah, a guy that hit 25 homers once and never more than that is "proven." Brady Anderson is a proven 50HR guy.

I think Rodon has a pretty good chance to win more than 85 games.

Who said that? I think Bryant has a good chance to hit 200 homers. Beyond that, who knows? I would consider that a similar expectation as Rodon getting 85 wins.

If a carbon copy of Kerry Wood came back and was available for trade I'd give the world for him. That was a generational talent, if he gets hurt he gets hurt but I take that risk for an arm like that.

I do believe 200 home runs and 85 wins are similar comparisons. I don't mind either prediction, though again I say that a win is more reliant on his own team's talent than a single player's home run number is, so I feel much safer with the Bryant prediction. If I'm trying to reach 85 wins quickly, I don't want to be pitching for the 2015 White Sox.

Rodon in, Noesi out. It's official.

Yet you have him winning 85 as a lock, and he is under control of the White Sox until 2021. 7 wins a season would take 12+ seasons to get to 85.

So I ask you...why are you optimistic about the team's future? You ridiculed the North Side organization for the way they went about improving their team, and stated that the White Sox and Hahn's method of retooling on the fly was superior, as it was not at the expense of the fans and would be just as successful.

Right now...why are you optimistic?

The Cubs prospects that had never proven anything in the minors have come up and the Cubs are a much improved team.

The White Sox have Abreu, Sale, Rodon, Micah Johnson, Eaton, Garcia, Quintana...and have severely regressed. Is there something or someone in the pipeline we're not aware of? Any upcoming influx of cash that can be spent on free agency?
