I don't consider 85 career wins an optimistic outlook for a high first rounder. In fact, I would consider it a disappointment.

I suspect Rodon will average more than seven wins per season over his White Sox career. Would you like to bet the under?

Will you ever answer the question? I'm fairly sure I posed mine first.

I can't answer because I'm not optimistic. Talk about trolling.

Go back four years. Would you choose the Cubs Way?

No. I'm not optimistic about the Cubs either.

Yet you have him winning 85 as a lock, and he is under control of the White Sox until 2021. 7 wins a season would take 12+ seasons to get to 85.

So I ask you...why are you optimistic about the team's future? You ridiculed the North Side organization for the way they went about improving their team, and stated that the White Sox and Hahn's method of retooling on the fly was superior, as it was not at the expense of the fans and would be just as successful.

Right now...why are you optimistic?

The Cubs prospects that had never proven anything in the minors have come up and the Cubs are a much improved team.

The White Sox have Abreu, Sale, Rodon, Micah Johnson, Eaton, Garcia, Quintana...and have severely regressed. Is there something or someone in the pipeline we're not aware of? Any upcoming influx of cash that can be spent on free agency?

the cubpacalypse is coming! hoo-ray! hoo-ray!

i can't wait for this cubs team to inevitably get good and really start to validate guys like IMU whose troll games will be backed up by on-field success borne of picking in the top-5 for a few years! it's like boy those natinals did a spot-on bang-up job hitting on that harper kid, you know?

but i guess the lesson is that sometimes you're SUPPOSED TO lose (especially when it helps your owner pocket 100mil+ over 4-5 years) because then after importing a visionary who can get some high draft picks and turn top-5 players into top-5 players then and only then will this revolutionary concept of getting a bunch of good young players come to fruition and the rest of baseball will take notice.

* jots down "GET A BUNCH OF REALLY GOOD PLAYERS" in his "how to win at baseball" notebook *

hell, i often wonder why there aren't like 5 teams that actually try to win and the rest try to lose... i mean seriously what business do the seattle mariners have going out and trading for nelson cruz? they're not gonna win the world series, and yet now that that they got a big 40+ HR bat in there to go from 70-75 wins to 80-85 wins they're just going to draft lesser players and then they're going to have to face IMU as he wags his finger like WHY ARE YOU OPTIMISTIC? TAKE A LOOK AT THE CUBS.... THIS IS WHAT YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DO!

baseball would be way more fun if only 5-10 teams tops really tried to play baseball and the rest just packed it in and accepted the cubs' plan as the only viable plan. hopefully the job done here has a lasting influence on the game cuz lord knows ~20 odd baseball owners will love pocketing a shit-ton of cash during those 4-5 year suckfests.

The Cardinals and Giants would never purposefully endure a suckfest and those are the two teams everyone wants to be.

I wanted the Cubs to be the Cardinals, I'd just become a Cardinals fan. Seems easier.

Instead, I want the Cubs to be the Cubs, but with some recent World Series victories.

The Cardinals have excellent scouting and a good front office. Respect. But any team can have that with smart business moves and smart baseball moves. Just need an owner and front office to set a foundation, and build your way up. I believe the Cubs are succeeding in that.

In 2005 - 2008 the SF Giants finished with 75, 76, 71 and 72 wins.

Their low finishes yielded them Tim Lincecum, Madison Baumgarner, Buster Posey and Zack Wheeler in the 1st round.

They're pretty good players.

Which one of the White Sox minor league affiliates did you play for?

Yet, the White Sox are doing it. Only difference is the fanbase is too stupid to realize it.

Sox rebuild mode lasted for like one year. They are so fucking stupid. Signed a bunch of mid-level free agents and lost all their draft picks. fucking morons. team is terrible. minor leagues are terrible. when do the blame they fans for the sell-off that is coming?

True ... But ya gotta draft the right guys..easier said than done
Who did the cubs n Sox draft in those years in the first round?

In those years mark pawelek n lance Broadway
Tyler colvin kyle McCulloch
Josh vitters Aaron poreda
Andrew cashner Gordon Beckham

You don't need to suck to acquire great players IMO.. You just need to know how to evaluate n develop talent...

yep. you need waves of prospects because only a few will ever amount to anything. for decades Sox had virtually no pipeline into Latin America. how the fuck are you going to compete like that? all they ever cared about was this year's cash flow statement.
