I want a Noah Syndergaard.

I wonder what kind of pitcher Vogelbach/Almora/"A" arm could net the Cubs.

Yeah, you would think the Cubs (surplus of hitting) and Mets (surplus of pitching, weak offense) would make a deal at some point.

He has good stuff but couldn't locate the fastball. You could tell the Cubs would touch him up eventually because he was throwing them down the middle and they were seeing it pretty well. His breaking stuff is very good and I liked his confidence to throw it when behind the count and men on.

Nice to see Arrieta bounce back.

I think they can beat Harvey tonight.

Well, tonight and tomorrow are tough matchups, but the Cubs have won the first two so hopefully there is some confidence in the Cubs dugout.

I thought Wood was. Doesn't really matter, both suck.

Hammel pitches today, Wood tomorrow.

I'm more worried about the Cubs scoring runs these next two days than the Cubs giving up runs. The Mets offense is pretty bad; the Mets pitching is pretty good.

#Cubs lineup vs #Mets 5/13 (7:05 CT): Fowler CF, Bryant 3B, Rizzo 1B, Castro SS, Montero C, Soler RF, Coghlan LF, Hammel P, Russell 2B

Stacked. I love this lineup. I think Bryant gets good protection with Rizzo behind him...which is why he now has 3 HR. I like Castro fourth because he may get some more pitches to drive instead of weak singles. Montero can hit the long ball, and Soler is nice at 6 because at this point...dude is going to swing, so he might as well swing hard and try to bring whatever baserunners are on from the first five. Coghlan is a smart hitter with some pop. And Russell in the 9 hole has worked well.

Dennis once told me not to grow too attached to attractive blondes. His advice now holds true in two different situations.

Forgive KW, he doesn't watch the games.

The eye test tells me Coghlan is hitting the ball hard, and driving it. Many are 'at him' balls. I have no idea what his BABIP is, but I'm guess below league average and his career average.

You own a Junior Lake shirsey. You wear it non-ironically.

Coghlan technically sucks, yes ...but I see promise ..I like him..when they show his numbers I always am a bit surprised at how poor they are, he looks better than those numbers .

His babip is only .229 while maining a roughly career normal LD%. He's had some bad luck if you believe in that sort of thing.

Facially speaking, when did Matt Harvey start morphing into Captain Spaulding?

I've never heard of an "on-base streak".

I'm pretty sure Soler leads the league in swinging at 61 foot pitches.
