Well this is in the jury's hands now. Do you think he deserves to die? Or would suffering life in prison without the possibility of parole be enough?

I read a story about ADX Florence, where (paraphrased) a life sentence there is probably worse than a death sentence.
That's where this shitstain is headed, (probably) one way or another.
Don't make him a martyr.
Let him rot in Colorado.

In this case at his age-size ..life sentence is more brutal than death penalty, let him get passed around like a piece of candy for a decade before he hangs himself.

I do not think state convicts got to Florence. It is a federal prison. There may be another conviction coming but now he is convicted in Mass.

If he's been convicted by a state that doesn't have the death penalty, how can he get it?

I believe there are Federal charges, particularly the Weapon of Mass Destruction charge. I think this was a federal case, no?

It's a federal court. State laws don't apply for federal trials.

That's what I thought, but then people were saying he couldn't go to supermax, so I got confused.

I am also confused. I know I absolutely heard he was tried in MA and no death penalty option. There is no such thing as a parallel fed/state trial as the judges are different. Maybe they can run him through the feds now?

the death penalty is one of the most useless sentences...if he can keep appealing, which he probably would. i agree, let him disappear in a cell.

I'd prefer to see this dude spend eternity in a tiny little cell that he gets out of for only an hour a day.

He's been tried n convicted on 30 federal charges.

"Jurors can choose to either sentence Tsarnaev to life without parole or to be executed. Last month, the jury of seven women and five men convicted him of 30 charges, including 17 capital crimes."
He could get a death sentence, but in my mind, I agree with 312Payer's earlier post. Being so young, and without the bleeding heart appeals reason to overturn a death sentence, life would be worse. If he really gets off on the idea of killing people, he should have the courage of his convictions and repeatedly slam his head into his concrete mattress in his cell so he can get his 72 virgins while he's still young........

Ok my bad I just read that Mass does not have death but this is in fact a federal trial conviction. He will get the McVeigh treatment.

I believe I could, but would never say for certain unless it was the moment of time.

The death penalty does indeed cost a ridiculous amount of money from the state...yes

However, There are hundreds if not thousands of cases that the leverage of the DP is very useful... It makes a lot of scumbags plead guilty to life without parole (saving money) and cooperating with detectives and taking them to bodies that would never be found.

that's true--it's just unfortunate that the sentence itself can't be more meaningful. at least texas stopped with giving the last meal thing...that privilege was heavily abused.
