Well, except for the score, I like what I've seen from 3:00 on.

They've played really well, but Andersen has been fantastic. Crawford should have had that one, but Crawford giving up a crappy first goal is just sort of the way things are.

We are controlling a game we are losing. I hate that.

It was the piss-poor clearing attempt that allowed that shot.

Backbreaker of a goal to give up. Probably not putting three on Andersen in 33 minutes at this rate. Rundblad is awful but Rozsival surely would have been just as bad.

What a dive on that penalty call.

Game's been all Ducks since the Palmieri goal.

Can't overstate how huge the Richards goal was. The Hawks were fading fast until that point, back within striking distance now with 20 to go. Way to gut it out all by yourself, man!

Cannot fault the effort. Ducks got back in it a bit, but so far do not look that imposing. If Rundblad didn't have cranial rectumitis, the score may be more favorable.

The Ducks' bottom six has looked better than I thought they would. Our guys have done a good job neutralizing Getzlaf and Perry, but Kesler has been a presence all game, and Silfverberg and Cogliano have looked dangerous.

Boy, the announcers are really hammering home our defenseman issue, huh.

I basically said the same thing about the Richards goal out loud; however, let's also not overstate the Duck's "dominance" in that period. Hawks pulled the throttle back a bit, but it wasn't like they were on their heels for any length, either.

On the richard's goal they have doing that all game. Andersen has just been saving their ass. Hopefully the park we need.

Dominant? No, never dominant, the Hawks' first period was dominant, but Anaheim was pretty firmly in control through the second half of the frame.

How has Kane looked to you guys? Because I think he's looked kinda crappy. He's not getting crushed out there, he's just giving up the puck more than he should. I hope he didn't use the time off to have a relapse.

Just tuning in. Jesus, this is what the crowd is like in Anaheim for game? They're more subdued than the UC which is hard to do.

Remember when Jonathan Toews was on this team?

Well, this was a shitburger of a game to wait a week for. Anaheim's looking like a team of destiny all of a sudden. Kesler fucked Toews right in the mouth today. he amounted to nothing.

Well, overall the Hawks brought the effort, but mistakes in their end did them in. Rundblad was horrible, Crow was meh, and the stars were neutralized. Still, I am not discouraged. Come home down 2-0, though...

  Good to have you back CH.

Now the series can begin.

It is one game. Hawks will be fine.

I like that you have it in you to be smug after a three-goal loss.

Let's hope we have a #1 center for Game 2, because we sure as shit didn't today.

 Anaheim, the #1 seed, who had a record of 8-1 in the playoffs coming into the game, looking like a "team of destiny all of a sudden".

Yes, the outcome sucks, but again, the Hawks did not shit the bed. They got beat by the better team. Today.

I wish we would just cut him.

I dunno, there was some serious bed-shitting in the third. We may have underestimated the Ducks on this one. Toews and Kane were overwhelmed today.

Star players canceling each other out is par for the course at this stage of the Stanley Cup playoffs. It's your secondary and tertiary players who make the difference. 4 of the 5 players who scored today netted their 1st or 2nd goal of these playoffs.

Q can get Toews away from Kesler and free up Kane once the series moves back to the UC; but chances are pretty good game 2 will be a replay of game 1, in terms of where the scoring comes from.

They shut down all our depth, though. Nothing from Sharp and Vermette, either.

The shot count is kind of misleading. We seem to be getting Mike Smithed again, as usual, where they concede perimeter shots and clog up anything that might land somewhere other than chest. Can't beat that six-goalie system.
