Does he have a mental tic that is preventing him from throwing the ball back to the pitcher in a normal way. Eric Chavez thinks so. I read about Chavez discussing it and now I can't help but notice the odd routine of Soto wherein he falls forward while delivering the ball back to the pitcher and supports himself with his glove hand and then obsessively brushes the dirt in front of the plate. When asked about having Mackey Sasser-like yips Soto's denial was less than emphatic.

I think this is true, but he's been able to compensate thus far.

ESPN did a short film version of their 30 for 30 series on Mackey Sasser, the old Mets catcher known for the yips. I watched it last night.

Not bad. Definitely could see why it was done in a short form, though. No one cares that much about Sasser. Apparently his yips stem all the way back to his childhood, and when he got bowled over at the plate, he couldn't get out of his head.

More important question: Does Geovany still trim his eyebrows?

I guess it's a "Latin thing"? The Molina guy on the Cards does it too. Does anyone have an explanation for this in the latin culture? There are plenty of white guys doing this too. Maybe it's just a metro sexual thing?

You don't trim your eyebrows, jimmy? Do you look like Bogdan in Breaking Bad?

As an old guy,I have runaway eyebrow hairs. I comb up and cut. They are not trimmed like a young lady.

You should get yours threaded at Rade's Fades on Western and Lunt.
