Last night was a coaching win.

Double steal leads to Bryant getting knocked in on a grounder. Maddon looks at the stats and knows Castro has been sucking ass. He's not just there to light up a room!

3B coach sends Wada home and squeaks in for the run. Fowler takes 3rd on the throw and knocked in on a sac fly.

This team is developing a lot of holes though. Offense is scuffling with Soler and Castro being horrible. Defense sucks. Bullpen is still scary. 4 and 5 starters can't pitch past the 5th.

It's going to collapse soon.

Jeff Garlin is in the Padres booth with Dick Enberg. He's doing shows in La Jolla this weekend. Says there's a real good chance Curb comes back for another season. They just talked about it last week.

Man what a masterful performance tonight by Hendricks.

He had a Maddux like game with his movement and control. He had hitters off balance all night and could do whatever he wanted.

man my guy cory "the spanger" spangenburg had a big 2HR game (right after a week where he was given ~6-7 starts in a row batting 1st or 2nd and stole 4 bases) and all of a sudden he's an 0-fer machine with 0 SB. i wonder if he's tried to become a HR hitter or if shit has just adjusted to him REAL QUICK cuz man.... eh had ~280 at bats at the big league level last year and he hit .290 and while his speed was far from prodigious, i had hoped to find a 20-30SB bat in the ether...... alas, then the mighty cubs pitching staff came.

yeah he definitely looked like him last night. That movement to the right handers was crazy. I love watching pitchers like that. And I was so thankful that Maddon let him finish it.
