Sunday tickets are an excellent deal. Mondays are as well.

Yeah I saw that. What you did is absolve yourself of telling a socially unacceptable joke with that preface, but you told it nonetheless. I am not PC, so I don't care. It's just a bad little joke that lacks creativity.

What the hell are you talking about? You think owning Peoria, Rockford and Des Moines is more valuable than Chicago and its suburbs? You said they own Cook County. I disagree with that 100%.

Cook County: 5,194,675
Iowa (State): 3,074,00
DuPage County: 916,924
Lake County: 703,462
Will County: 677,560
Kane County: 515,269
McHenry County: 308,760

Chicago's population is apparently estimated to be 2.715M.

Holy hell do you never make any sense.

The populations of the surrounding counties and state of IA you provided exceed that of Cook Co.

I'm looking at the NY Times baseball map you're citing and it's giving me 40% Cubs, 38% Sox for Cook County. That's basically a dead heat. Sox lead 59%-22% for Alsip's zip code, and if they want it they can fucking have it. YEAH, I SAID IT!!!

The northernmost Sox plurality is Hermosa. El surprise-o.

El surprise-o and army of IMU's. It is a disturbing and funny day in the glossary of CSFMB.

watched a little of the game between intermissions. there was literally no one in the park. weekday, hawks games etc so it's understandable.

but when i checked the season stats the sox are 3rd last!?!?!

i admit i'm part of the problem as i bought two ballpark passes which gave you tickets to nearly every april and may home game and i'm prolly not going to go to one.

i think the weather has been the biggest issue. we haven't really had a nice spring.

Actually the weather has been OK. Not 70 and Sunny, but hasnt been storms and rain outs either.

Jerry doesnt care anymore, so nothing will change. He is at peace with himself that he did everything he could to get fans out there, now he just doesnt give a shit. However, I dont think he did everything he could or a good job.

This has been going on forever with the same old tired arguments. Sox attendance is what it is. The team hasn't avoided doing anything any other team tries to up attendance. They are the second team in a city that supports the first more. Not going to change excpet for certain windows when they create a short lived bandwagon. As a fan I am sorry to see that.

The Sox have been out of town every time the mercury has moved past 70 this year. Yesterday it was 68 degrees at first pitch, which is the highest I've seen this year at the Cell. Nobody showed up anyways but its not like the Sox have been bathing in hot baseball weather when they're in Chicago.

I go to every game I can make, its a sorry sight.

....and I think Many have now agreed.....I know the Sox fans hate to admit the Hawk, Farmi, Coop thing is a problem, but it is.

To deny it is foolish and shows a lack of business sense.

Does it means that changing these guys increases attendance by a mill? Of course not....but maybe it stops the slide in attendance, maybe a few people more come out.

Before his 2nd DUI, one of the DBacks bigger drawing cards was Mark Grace...he had a full section of people that came out and sat in "Gracies section", he was a drawing card for them.

I think the evidence declares I am right. 7 years of declining season ticket sales doesnt speak well for them doing things right.

Got a call from one of my trader buddies who shares 6 season tickets at the Cell, asking me if he can buy into some Cubs tickets, because the whole Sox thing just sucks.

America is a solid fan, but 68 isnt bad....Members Onlys jackets are quite warm.

presenting competent broadcasts is an issue.

hawk is a good differentiator in the new world of bland loser nerds like kasper. but pairing him with stoney is so dumb. hawk needs a guy that he can riff with instead of each sitting at opposite ends of the table.

farmer/dj is just a trainwreck. its just so awkward. there is literally no flow between the two. and yet they're on their like 7th or 8th year together.

i think the cell is a blessing and curse. the sweetheart deal provides a floor. it provides comfort so there's little incentive to work harder and compete.

The Sox weren't the second team before JR bought them.

That Nerdy loser Kasper is a guy who brings people to the park.

he paints a constant picture of coming to Wrigley is a ton of fun, the family, the kids, etc etc etc...meet the pantsless Bear, get some autographs by Bryant, Soler, ....Ross!

Hawk tells the fans they suck because they dont come out....and in 1974, Yaz once spit on a fan...that was great!

Its just not Rocket Surgery or Brain Science.

One team went pay per view and the other team went FREE TV around the Nation on Cable for every kid to see when they got home.

Jerry's second biggest mistake, per his own admission....

Who can guess his biggest mistake? per him....not me...

A better question is has he ever made a good decision after buying the team.

Jerry might not but they have an entire department of professionals who should.

I don't pretend that giveaways would change much but it sure seems that teams like the Brewers have something that they are giving away or discounting every night. Sox give you Latin night with a mariachi band and nothing else discernible from any other ball game. It sure doesn't seem like anyone is doing his job.

I don't think he made any decision any moron on this board with the help of a decent lawer wouldn't have made.

EDIT: And a lot of the morons here would've made better decisions!

Any outdoor stadium built in the northern climates(nowadays) should automatically have a dome though. Thats a no-brainer to me. Wont blame Reinsdorf for not doing that 25 years ago though. Wasnt a really popular thing then. Miller park is great except for the Brewers playing there.
