On a somewhat related topic, I saw a size 22, 298lb. "supermodel" plastered all over TV today. That's just ducky that she's comfortable with herself at that weight, but it's not healthy and should not be praised or encouraged. Your organs are packed in fat, you're increasing your chances of developing heart disease and diabetes, and your hips and knees are under a tremendous amount of strain.

But...YAY! You're so empowered and beautiful!

I think I've seen the same person. A buddy's wife, quite overweight herself, shared a few "empowering" Facebook posts from this mammoth. Truly objectionable.

Was it Tess Munster? Doing the whole retro pin-up girl thing, but throwing back to a time where Americans were rarely this obese?

Yup, that's her.

She's really thumbing her nose at society and having the last laugh! Take that, fat-shaming medical facts!

The thing that bugs me the most about her is that I agree with the general conceit that women should not feel bad about themselves that they're not as thin as some 90lb runway model. That said, you SHOULD feel bad about yourself if you're a 300lb woman. 300lbs isn't a healthy weight for anyone unless you're a professional athlete or 7 feet tall.

Btw, maybe she's shorter than I think but I might have to call shenanigans on her being 300lbs. I've got a buddy pushing close to 4 spins and she looks to be the same size, slightly smaller belly but noticeably fatter arms.

How dare those fashion magazines try to give her an eating disorder, she's happy with the eating disorder she already has.

I know I started liking girls around 5 or 6. Unfortunately, they didn't like me back until about 20 years later.

Nah...they wouldn't shoot us...would make headlines...wouldn't want to glamorize the fat lifestyle.

Would be a quiet, hush hush, sort of thing.

They did and Law and Order SVu on that topic.

I find the entire and I mean entire notion of children having the say so in how they are raised and brought up to be insane. they are kids and not developed. I mean here we are having an article in a respected mainstream magazine advocating children being allowed to alter their bodies irreparably yet I bet this same publication has in the past advocated for more parental involvement i raising children. Talk about taking two extreme incompatible positions. One end let the kid do what they want and the other more parental involvement.

I saw something on this recently and I don't really understand it. I cant imagine have non medically necessary surgery. I kinda look at it from the perspective of like oh yeah this will make you happy. Life will be perfect after the surgery? It doesn't make sense.

You can dress, do, feel whatever you want. How is changing gender really going to change things?

like the non insane times of the 80's and 90's where gay people were killed for being gay? or the non insane 50's and 60's where blacks were segregated in schools? or the non insane 30's where jews were exterminated by the millions...or the non insane 20's and 30's when we were in a depression, and immigrants were treated like cattle? or those non insane times back in the great days of the grassroots of this country, where native americans were slaughtered by the numbers, and this country was on the brink of civil war until war finally broke out...man what i think about is those non insane medieval times where people could be hanged, drawn and quartered in front of an audience. what a great normal time we lived in...

Climb down off you high horse Z. New insane times means that there were other times that were also crazy.

Now, if you have something for pittmike that would counter why the medical community does not have an ethical duty to require psychological testing and family counseling before pulling out a scalpel, we are all ears.

I realized that after i posted that he might have meant these particular insane times, but i figured i would clarify after he rightly would have berated me for it.

You however aren't in any position to talk about high horses. And that wasn't my intention.

I think you read too much into what I said. I was illustrating that as far as I know in past times there was some process made by doctors not officials as to how to change gender and when. You over analyze that into I hat blacks and gays. Really? Get over yourself SJW.
