Mike North, morning personality on Infinity's sports/talk WSCR-AM (670), will host the inaugural edition of "White Sox Weekly," a one-hour showcase for commentary, interviews and news at 11 a.m. Saturdays, starting this weekend.

Under a five-year deal announced last June, the Score is the new radio home of the White Sox. As the 2006 season approaches, the show will expand to two hours

11 a.m. Saturday during college football season may not be the best time to have a baseball show...but what do I know.

I think North will make it interesting. When he is purely talking sports it has always been a good listen.

I agree GD. It sounds like they're at least trying to stick to sports lately. Still too much Annie stupidity though. And when you have that mindless chatter where Mike, Annie, Fred, and Jen are all babbling at the same time it's painful. They actually spent several minutes yesterday campaigning for their own microphone covers. WTF!

Oh, that's original. I heard that with other radio hosts only about a thousand times before. Did they refer to them as mic condoms and then wander off into the world we all think of when such reference comes up?

LOL taa!! You're not too far off. They were calling them "muffs", along with giggling and snickering.

They should have Annie and Fred with him as well!..

Referring to Annie's comments on tackles, maybe she'll make an argument that a strikeout is everytime a batter swings and misses.

So they bring out North, for More money I assume? In the hopes of him dragging his bunch of rag tag flim flam advertisers with him?

I don't even like Mike talking about sports, because he has turned into such an ego maniac, that he makes every comment about him,

"didn't I say this"

"Didn't I tell you that"

"What did I say?"

His talk has become so much about him, he doesn't even know it.

As long as the people pay to sponsor Mike they don't care.

does this mean he might need a fact?

Papi will be doing it from live from Papi-land. He ain't coming downtown for an hour on a Saturday morning. He'll roll out of bed at 10:59 and do the show in his robe - just like Hef!

Honestly, wasnt a bad show. As Dolphin has continually said, Pappy isnt bad when sticking to sports. Now if we could just make him understand that is what needs to happen during the week, we would be in business.

It was like a "compressed columns" show. Mike did an hour of sports in an hour; whereas during the week he does an hour of sports in 4 hours! LOL
