Like the constant moving around, guessing some numbers logic behind this one....or maybe the Pick it out of the hat method?

Chris Coghlan, LF
Anthony Rizzo, 1B
Kris Bryant, 3B
Dexter Fowler, CF
Starlin Castro, SS
Junior Lake, RF
David Ross, C
Jon Lester, P
Addison Russell, 2B

IIRC, he did a lot of this with the Rays.

If Ventura did this constantly switching you would be lighting the fire under the stake he was tied to.

I dont hold Robin accountable for all the losing...it is an organizational breakdown, starting with the guy who thinks he is the GM, but still doesnt make Robin a good manager.

I have a feeling this lineup is just for tonight...think of it as an Ozzie Sunday lineup.

Soler has been hitting the ball well the last few games, even some of his outs have been drives. yet, he is sitting

I don't need to see junior lake ever again on the mlb team ..let him be bobby scales n play for fun in Iowa.

De aza just got designated for assignment.. Make it happen.

De aza > lake

No, but it doesn't matter. I think people misunderstand when I say managers don't matter and think I'm saying all managers are the same. Those two things aren't the same thing. Sure, some guys understand the numbers better than others. Maddon has enough sense that his teams aren't constantly losing runners on the bases, but that isn't going to make a difference over the course of a 162 game season. Sometimes a guy will do everything wrong like Zimmer in '89 and come up smelling like roses. People laugh at Ned Yost, but I highly doubt Jim Leyland or Tony LaRussa would be winning more games with this Kansas City team. Baseball just doesn't work that way. It's a funny game. Football isn't funny. Basketball isn't funny. Replace Trestman with Belichick and the same team will win more games. Replace Isiah Thomas with Thibodeau and the same team will win more games. Replace Joe Torre with Terry Bevington and who the fuck knows what happens.

Well said.

There is no doubt that an NFL head coach is, by far, the most important of the 4 major sports. Especially if he's calling the offensive plays. But even if he's not, it's the head coach that picks the guy that is.

If I was managing the Sox, I might have the same record as Robin right now. I'm not joking. If I coached the Bears they would go 0-16.
