The blue area represents optimal temperature range for Cubs offense.

70s seem to be ok. 80s seem to be a problem.

IMU thought the other team's bats wouldn't heat up either.

You might not notice how the Cubs have been hot recently.

They were gifted wins by the Pirates then got absolutely pasted by AJ Burnett. That's not hot.

And the wind was blowing out. Both teams scored few runs. Surprised.

I feel as if too many players are swinging for the fences. A lot of popups yesterday.

74° and still no offense.

Does Ricketts need to move the Cubs to Vegas to get the offense going?

So it needs to be 89 degrees.

Good thing Chicago is located in the desert.

Periods like this are needed for a developing team.

No, Rizzo, you guys aren't as good as you think you are. The Cardinals chewed you up. Being good takes time and a concerted effort toward identifying and correcting weaknesses.

60°F with a strong wind blowing in, gusting up to 25 mph at times.

A lineup filled, top to bottom, with HoF'ers/All-Starts/Silver Sluggers/BabeRuth-WillieMays hybrids and they still need a second Wild-Card spot to possibly limp into the playoffs with.

White hot, indeed.

The Cubs have the 3rd best record in the league. It is just their misfortune to be in the same division with the teams with the 2 best records in the league. But they are right on the Pirates tail and may well pass them up before the season ends. There is still an outside chance they could catch the redbirds too.
