He reminds me alot of Moises Alou, without the peeing on the hands. I think he will hit 20-30 HR with 90-100+ RBI.

Except Alou was a famous first pitch hitter....

There is little about Bryant that surprises me, other than his speed. I am impressed. When he had the triple last night, you really got to see how well he can get around, with those long strides really taking up real estate. 2 infield hits in the past few games. This is a truly special player.

Generational talent implies once in a generation.

That could be true if there weren't at least two guys of approximately the same age who have and most likely will have throughout their careers, more skins on the wall.

This will be even more apparent when all three are playing the OF.

Even that five headed pud Len recognized he is not and may never be the best player on this team...of course he followed that up with how he could not wait for 2-3-4 of Rizzo, Bryant and Schwarber so a tiger cannot change it's stripes. He also said he was a sabermatrician. I wonder if people with degrees in statistics look at people who adopt that title in the same way say, a mechanical engineer looks at a building engineer who claims the title of "engineer."

Gretzky and Messier were both generational talents. They played at the same time.

Maddux and Johnson, if you want to stick to baseball.

Even sticking to hockey, Gretzky was the generational talent, the guy who redefined the game with his presence. Messier was a great player.

Is Maddux a generational talent? He is a great pitcher, no doubt, but generational TALENT...I wouldn't agree.

How's that? Frank was clearly the best hitter of his generation if you don't believe he was juiced up.

Nahhh, I'd take Griffey and a non-roided Bonds either way. And there is no way to know who juiced so I don't get all worked up in that. The era was the era.

I could agree with that statement. I do think Frank was a unique talent being a hitter for average with elite power AND having the best eye in the game. Still the game of baseball changed because of Bonds.

Well, history already seems to be favoring Frank whether you do or not.

You mean changed because many fans became disillusioned and disgusted?

Griffey's Hall of Fame vote percentage should below by Thomas by a wide margin, and the reasoning behind Bonds is well documented.

I expect Bonds to eventually get in. No one can put great stock in the Hall without Pete Rose or Barry Bonds.

Not because of anything he ever did with a bat. And the reasoning behind Bonds is faulty.

They can and do. Pete Rose tanked games. He's no better than Joe Jackson.

Frank Thomas is the only player in major league history to have seven consecutive seasons of a .300 average and at least 100 walks, 100 runs, 100 runs batted in, and 20 home runs.

C;early a GREAT hitter but as someone who watched Mays and Mantle in the late 50's and early 60's if you are looking for a 5 tool generational talent it is NOT "The Big Hurt" a 20-30 arm, 30 speed and 30-40 Glove. 80 hit 75 power clearly a 2 tool All time great and a deserved HOFer.
