Look, Fred was hired Months ago. What do you expect Gar Pax to say? Nothing wrong with having a firm committment from a replacement candidate before you terminate someone.

He's insistent that they get Jen Swanson out of there. I think he's being disrespectful to women and he's been told to change his behavior before! Jerry. does. not. like that.

Swanson out? Why? Wasn't she hired by Gar/Pax with a Reinsdorf approval? The way Bernstein changes his heroes into heels would make Vince McMahon blush. Basically it has become whomever is lauded today (ownership excepted) will be criticized tomorrow. Must be a radio thing.

Because she disrupts the chain of command. Trainers should be assistant coaches in spirit who serve the whole team, not roving consultants for certain players.

That's fair enough, but the hypocrisy comes from bigfan's corroboration of the Thibs-hates-women story. Bigfan said Thibs had a bad relationship with Jen, and Dan said that Thibs's treatment of women was part of why he deserved to be #fired. However, it's likely that with her strange relationship with players, any coach would have a bad relationship with a woman who tells him who can play and how much. This would be bad for the Good Communication that Hoiberg will bring. Therefore, Dan thinks Jen Swanson deserves to be #fired.

All that "winning " the press conference does is delay the timer on when Lil Danny will break bad on the guy.

That one has to come directly from his wife.

I believe you get a trophy for that...or a certificate of achievement.

I thought I read somewhere that "winning the press conference" and "winning the day" have their roots in inside-the-Beltway coverage, like "bad optics" and so many other crimes against the language.

It's the latter, like jury duty.

In the brief time they had, Bernstein did a good job of asking questions of Hoiberg.

Then afterwards there was seemingly a rightful firing-session on The Organization being weird...but then that any 'weirdness' was somehow Derrick's fault.

I will give them credit for that. I expected verbal fellatio from Dan and for Terry to just laugh hysterically at anything Hoiberg said.

They later on revealed they only had a few minutes with him. They asked better questions then the reporters at the.conference.
